Chrono Cross Finally Headed To North American PSN?
We have a lot of old-school RPG fans at this site, which is why we often see e-mails and news tips concerning the return of our favorite classics.
The fans weren't slow to tell us that the ESRB has rated one of Squaresoft's most impressive productions: Chrono Cross. This can only mean that the epic, colorful, rewarding quest will arrive in digital format on the PlayStation Store at some point.
If you ask long-time fans of the genre, they'll probably tell you that Chrono Cross was one of the best games they've ever played, perhaps even better than some Final Fantasy entries. Speaking of which, we've heard the ESRB has also rated Final Fantasy Origins as well, so that should go to the PSN, too. Origins gave PlayStation owners the chance to play through the first two titles in the FF franchise, and reminded us that we needed to do a lot of grinding to succeed in the old days.
But damn...Chrono Cross. It's about time, too! Other regions have had these for a while now, damnit.

This is gonna be effing orgasmic.
I CANNOT wait to get this beauty on psn. I still have my Chrono Cross game in all its splender for the ps1. Still looking ever so beautiful.
Holy crap, I knew I wanted to get another psp, and I guarentee this is one of the reasons.
Looks like I need to get a big ass memory card for it so I can store ffVII-ffIX, and another one for Chrono Trigger ( whenevver weget that on the psn ) and Chrono Cross.

I've done a bit of digging around trying to figure out the fate of "Chrono Break"
And I read that the Chrono team split up, bot because anything bad, just went seperate ways. But I also read that few of the team would like to continue the series but it would be a matter of reuniting the whole team.
As for "Chrono Break" is was a rumured 3rd installation in the series, apparently square either got the rights to the name, or got it ©'ed, but nothing ever came of it. And then eventually, because they never did anything with it, it went back up in the air for anyone to claim I guess.
Just google Chrono Break and you"l see what I mean.
Also, just a fun fact, a group of computer gamers started remaking Chrono Trigger for the computer awhile ago. Gave it what looked to be ps2-esque graphics. But the chrono team didn't like/want that so the made them stop production.
You could probably google that too, I know the people had a website, I stumbled apon it by accident and don't remember the name, but its still up, but it only has still images of the characters that the re-did. It looked like it would be effing awesome.
Check it out if you got time, its worth it to see what might have been.

I don't think I'll be buying this on PSN since the PS1 version can be had for less than the $10 it'll probably sell for (and it includes FFIV, which I actually don't have yet).
Chrono Cross is still $15 on square's site so it's pretty cheap on ebay. I prefer having a physical copy too so that's the way I'll go. Anyway this is still awesome news.

What sucked me in was the music and the fact that it was an actual sequel for an rpg, playing a lot of FF as a kid i came to accept that rpgs really dont have true sequels. This one was tho, surprisingly so if you stuck with it

I never played it and I'm really not sure why. I remember watching the trailer over and over b/c the music was so awesome. I can still hear it in my head now.
If I ever have time I should really give this one a go.

I really still hope they can come up the original team and make the third installment which was named as "Chrono Break"
