Shadows Of The Damned Japanese Box Art Censored
Well, maybe EA thought they could get away with it in Japan.
After the Japanese box art for Grasshopper Manufacture's Shadows of the Damned made the Internet rounds a few months ago, people took notice.
After all, you don't normally see an exposed rear on the cover of a game. What you see here is the original art; it shows the hero Garcia Hotspur holding his girlfriend, Paula, who just so happens to be clad in skimpy lingerie. Hotspur braves hell to save her and the game is absolutely loaded with potentially offensive stuff, so the image fits.
But it doesn't matter, as according to Examiner.com, EA has now censored the racy box art. They've just blocked out Paula's attractive rear end; you can see the difference in the screenshots through the link. Well, they probably could've gotten away with a blood-dripping severed head, but that much flesh is usually a no-no in most any region.
