Crysis Hits PSN/XBLA On October 4

If you enjoyed the sequel but missed out on the original, you can soon take a step backwards in time.

Not long ago, we learned that Crysis would hit the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade at some point in October. Now, it has been announced that the first graphic-intensive title will be ready to go in digital form on October 4. It'll cost $19.99 on the PSN and 1600 Microsoft Points on the XBLA.

Boasting a remastered single-player campaign, complete with new lighting effects, stereoscopic 3D, and even optimized controls, developer Crytek has called this re-imagining of their sci-fi FPS the "best version" out there. Some fans will tell you the original is actually better than the sequel; Crysis 2 released earlier this year to widespread critical acclaim. We certainly liked it a lot.

And the first game with revamped visuals for only $20? That ain't bad. Of course, Dark Souls and Rage come out on that same day, but it's autumn now...'tis the season for tough decisions.

I'll probably get this someday, but now I'm saving for the ICO and MGS Collections. Oh, and Uncharted 3 of course!

Sadly enough, I may only be able to pick up one of those games this year.

sounds like we have the same shopping list and sadly the same situation. Uncharted 3 is my 1 game if i can only get 1.

how long is this game? i might get it as im currently putting a bigger hdd in my ps3 today and i will have more space. 20 bucks is what i would have paid for it for my pc but my pc needs a new graphics card before it could handle this game.

Seeing how weak coop play in Rage looks to be plus this ridiculous sewers passport thing I actually choose a psn game over a boxed game. That's a first for me.

$19.99 is ok for a full game, some people pays $14.99 for a crappy map pack.

People have got to start seeing that games are way too overpriced. $15 is agreeable but $20 is too much for a game that is almost 5 years old.

PLus it's a downloadable game so there are so hard materials used during manufactoring.

I can see the retail version of this game for $20 since you get a case disc pretty much that stuff.

Not saying that i would pay an extra $5 or $10 for plastic but this game shoudln't be this much.

its not even 4 years old!
20 bucks for one of the biggest best games released within the last generation remastered for consoles is a f*cking bargain!
you think games are too expensive?
come live here and get used to paying 120 bucks for new releases!

Yea I won't be getting this. I wasted my money on Crysis 2. Never again. The only games I'm getting next month are Rage and Batman. Possibly Battlefield if we have a good week of sales.

By no means what it a bad game. The level of motion blur, drab colors and uninspired enemies ruined it for me. Plus I think I let myself fall for the hype. It was supposed to be "teh best looking console game evah!". Not even close.

Btw Mr Dutka will there be a dark souls review? I hear that theres a reviewers support group established by from software aka the chain of pain for reviewers mentioned from ign. Are you secretly currently working on a review of dark souls?

does anyone kno if this will have a platinum trophy? it should cause it is a full game but the resident evil 4 hd remake didnt have one. i was so pissed i was really looking forward to getting a platinum for that game. dead nation has a platinum trophy but re4 deoesnt? WTF
