Well I got both consoles... And yeah if I get COD it will be on 360. And BF3 on ps3 lol.

360 crowd really is COD oriented. PS3 is more welcoming of the new BF3.

Anyway my live is running out of time so i'll probably just stick to BF3 :D

Fankiddies will be fankiddies, no matter what, so if there's nothing to compare &/or biatch about, they'll usually make something up so they can keep soothing their fragile ego's.

For me, out of 40 systems & handhelds(so far), I favor all my Playstation systems/handhelds just because they've always given me the most diverse gaming pleasures overall.

And if I had to pick my next few favorite consoles, then I'd have to go with my Dreamcast next, then my Double 180, then my Intellivision, & after that my Panasonic FZ10 3DO(600 levels of Icebreaker FTW).

i have a 360 - but i only use it for Gears and Halo - xbox live cod is riddled with really really annoying kids and teenagers - so just about all my buddies play cod on the ps3 . As for battlefield - dice are pc masters - battlefield 3 looks far superior on the pc and thats the platform ill be buying bf3 on.

360 for exclusives, PS3 for everything else. I didn't even realize I was doing that at first.
Until one day a buddy wanted to borrow a game. He got in my video cabinet, that has almost no videos in it, and asked me why I had 2 1/2 rows of PlayStation games. And less than half a row of 360.
I think it's what someone else already said. Community.
I play both the Battlefield and COD games. I like both of them.
I have them both preordered for PS3. Why PS3?
Community. I have the first Bad Company for 360, BC2 for PS3. I played BC1 multiplayer for a month or so. BC2, I still play it online.
Microsoft makes a big deal that every 360 comes with a headset.
And now I think that's the issue. Everyone on 360 has a mic. Only the people who want to talk on PlayStation, have one.
Just me, I don't think so.
Play the same game on 360 and PS3, with a headset, and tell me what you think.

I don't think it's a battle of the systems. A good game is a good game no matter which system you have. The two games are very different. If you like a fast paced, arcade style shooter get MW3; if you like more strategy and kick ass vehicles get BF3. There's room for both.

I find it just as fun to plays as BFBC2 so far though the graphics need to be redone or fixed before the retail release because they are seriously holding it back. Too bad DICE decided to keep things "fair" and hold the PS3 version back because the 360 can't hang.

Easy there world. BF3 beta has its bugs yes but don't forget that its just that, a beta. We don't know when it was built all we know is the beta itself has glitches. We still are unsure as to if this beta will leave an impression on the full title. Don't get too up in arms yet

I actually had a blast with it tonite. I finally got all the tools that I'm used to playing with so now u can b more of an effective player. It's great fun when u get used to the map and become comfortable with ur guns.

I don't think it's obvious but I do think it's there. I see it more that EA prefers the ps3 while Activision prefers the 360. EA gives a lot of content to ps3 versions of games while Activision gets profits from Live.

not sure if activision 'prefer' xbox so much as are persuaded to 'prefer' by microsoft handing over large quantities of $$$$$$$$$$$$ for the preferential early dlc - i guess when you only have 2 franchises of note (gears and halo) this is what they gotta do to compete with the ps3

I've come to find out that the nature of the BF3 v MW3 is very similar to the console war. When I'm not on here I sometimes check into AOTF to see some of their articles and the idiots that just talk smack about a game they haven't even played is insane. Not to mention most can't justify their reason for for thinking battlefield sucks. It's fairly easy to support an argument against MW3, but people just bicker back and forth without an explanation for their preference. It's just another fanboy war. So I guess you could say yea its a lot like ps3 v 360.

This also ties into bens other article. People say battlefield sucks only because they suck at it. Same with MW. ill b honest, I'm pretty bad at MW but the game doesn't help itself when glitches and cheaters run rampant. I would say yes cod is a solid game, but its just not for me.

hi guys I'm new to the site.... but have been a reader for over a year now... i have this to say, i have3 COD (WoW,B.OPS,MW2) and they all play the same, and my first encounter with battlefield started with BC1,then i got BC2, and now BF3 they all play very differently to each other unlike COD.

other thing about BF is that you do not have to kill to help your team win, all you need to do is what your kit is suppose to do or in other words you need to think a bit about how u go about in the game and COD players like rack up big kill streaks, THIS IS why COD PLAYERS (NOT FANS) do not like BF. about it being a ps3 vs xbox, i think it is only EA don't wants it to look like they are supporting the same console to passionately as their competition.

I own both ps3 and 360 because im a gamer. Fanboys are for the most part ignorant. But theres nothing wrong with having a preference. I value my ps3 more than my 360 but i like to play good games and have my cake and eat it too. Regarding the BF3 beta i played it extensively on both consoles and there ISN'T a visual difference graphically. Both are scaled down PC ports and both have lots of noticeable bugs and glitches. The most important question to ask is Are ps3 and 360 gamers are going to get the next gen battlefield EA has hyped up and promised. Cuz im not impressed. Just like MW3, BF3 is SSDD or SameShitDifferentDay.

I don't see that. I'm a Sony fan and I pick BF3 due to it's superior multiplayer. I just dislike all the perks in COD. However I must admit, I expected more from the BETA. The graphics were okay. It didn't show any vehicles or destructible enviroments. The BETA for BF2 had me sold but this one just didn't do the same for me. I might pass on both and pick up Resistence 3.

no, i don't think this turning into a ps3 vs 360 debate. the betas on both versions are equally bad so i don't buy this claim that bf3 will be better on the ps3. there is nothing about the ps3 version that is superior.

to be honest i am sick of all this bf3 hype. after seeing the beta it is clear this game was seriously overhyped. what we have here is an overhyped average looking fps.

bf3 is taking an absolute pounding out there on the internet now becuase of quality of the beta so it looks like ea/dice have fallen victim to their own hype. ea deserves every bit of backlash they are getting now considering all the chest thumping and boasting they have doing.

I wouldn't worry too much. Looking back at the gameplay footage they showed on Jimmy Fallon's show, I think the final version will turn out much better. Plus I think the beta looks that way because well...it's a beta. In order to keep the download size down they had to compress a lot of the textures. If anything though DICE should explain why it looks the way it does just to reasure people. I still think I'm going to get it if only for the campaign. Battlefield is fun unlike a lot of other military shooters.

Agreed. I hate playing online shooters because they're so twitchy (even the ones that are supposed to be tactical), but I actually enjoyed the 2 rounds I played today because my teammates were behaving more or less like soldiers *gasp*.

you are 100% correct in regards to ea showing all that awesome pc footage. the only thing positive i can say about that is maybe it shows what games might look like when next gen arrives. still, it is a kind of misleading tactic by ea that i have noticed they have done before on games like medal of honor. i saw screenshots for that game that looked great but the actual moh game itself did not look so hot. it must have been pc screenshots i was seeing for moh.

after months of listening to ea go on about bf3 and mw3 like a crack addicted hype spewing furbie i imagine activision is laughing their heads off right about now. bf3 may still end up being a fine game but was all of that hype really neccessary? probably not, and it may have very well back fired on them. anybody remember nfs shift 2? ea made a lot of bold claims about that game as well then did not deliver.

what was wrong with the kz3 beta? it was only one map but i thought it looked and played great. it's been awhile but i remember being quite happy with the kz3 beta. it was good enough to make kz3 a day1 purchase for me.

the bf3 beta has its issues but i would not say it's boring. there is something to be said about learning to play as team. i like that aspect of it, and i can see the potential for more tactical matches. the bf3 beta certainly does live up to the hype, but i would not describe it as boring. i'm pretty sure they will iron out the bugs. what i don't expect is a major graphical upgrade. as long as they get rid of the screen tearing i'll be happy. screen tears on a giant hdtv just look awful and i have come to despise them over the years.

cod is the same gameplay cause its the best gameplay a shooter ever had so why change it?

I'll admit killzone 3 graphics are amazing way better than bf3 beta and any cod game but the gameplay just dont say me much, I just don't get that great feel like I do with cod4mw and black ops.

I never said I hated it, it's just getting boring to play. Since I was little playing games all I did was play FPS games and a mix of RPG games as well.

And it doesn't help that my friends are bugging me to get BF3 and MW3 which I don't know how I'm going to with my financial situation. I'm just getting burnt out on FPS games. What I really need is more RPG games to play.

well ive played both mw3 and b3 and i think mw3 is basically very similar to mw2 which is annyoign as the jump between cod4 and mw2 was substantial......as for b3 from playing the sp at an expo it rocks guys :)
they beta looks unpolished graphically tho which is annoying but i love the game

i was at a friends house today i could not believe how much better BF3 looks on the 360!
i wish DICE would stop metro though, come on it does not indicate what battlefields like!
caspian border is f*cking amazing, why wont they let us have a bite of it?

That's not what I heard, it had the same problems as the PS3.

And on top of that once they get rid of the kinks it should play better on PS3, supposedly they geared the game towards the PS3's strengths, I'm not sure if that's true or not though.

Somehow, I PERSONALLY have found, esp. in my region, most tweens/teens have a 360, whereas very few have ps3's. Not saying that adults don't have 360's, there's quite a few. I feel that's why the #'s of 360's is always higher, but at the same time, tweens/teens go with what is popular or well-known, COD. Other 360 owners who are swayed by popularity would then lean toward COD because "everyone else is." It would be a vicious cycle at that point. My two cents.

i actually have been really enjoying the bf3 beta. It definitely has it's issues. but it's alot of fun!!! I love the grenade explosions. They are really cool looking and they feel cool too when the controller shakes. I'm impressed... can't wait until it drops.

it's not the fanboys who created the COD/BF3 battle royale. It was the businesses who place priority on different consoles. Personally, I'm PISSED that even as a PAID ELITE member, PS3 users will be shafted. At 50.00 a year, they still will get map-packs later than the xbox. Personally, I"m glad to see a more sane business move that gives one platform merely a 'week' advantage on maps, etc. That is why I tend to favor BF3 over MW3. Continue to shaft PS3 users, I don't care HOW good a game is, I won't PAY to be intentionally shafted.

I don't think BF3's graphics on either PS3 or 360 are going to really wow anyone. In some ways I think BC2 looks better. The beta sure has lots of graphical glitches and screen tearing.

I have never played a demo that buggy. Beta's on the other hand? Like I said, take a look at the Jimmy Fallon footage. The game looks much better than the beta and it's PS3 footage. For all we know that beta could be very old code. Also DICE has already stated(look around on google) that the retail copy of the game is already polished and what we are seeing in the beta is not representative of the final product as beta's never are. The same sh*t storm was kicked up when the Crysis 2 beta released on PSN and the final game turned out much better.

People really are forgetting what beta means this gen.

The graphics in the Jimmy Fallon footage look the same as the beta footage imo. Very similar to BC2(both have tearing and aliasing issues). I thought there would be a meaningful improvement, but I guess that's limited to PC only.

I'm sorry but you're just wrong. They look much better in the Fallon footage. I think you're just looking for a reason to be overly critical of the game at this point because you fell for the hype. The game was never going to look as good on consoles as it will on the PC and EA nor DICE ever said it would. The beta is called a beta for a reason. Never since the time they started letting the public participate in beta testing has a beta ever been a good representation of the final product. Never.

As for the screen tearing, if you have played the other BF games, you should know by now tearing is a constant problem with Frostbite.

I don't think I'm being overly critical at all. Just my reaction to playing the game first hand, and I don't think the visuals are going to end up being anything to gloat over beta or not.

To say I am thoroughly disappointed generally is an understatement... the issues so far with the BF3 beta...

1] The nasty shadow mapping returns. Why do we have to have such blocky shadows, especially on non moving objects. If the sun ain't moving then it is better to "bake" in the shadows underneath masonry, building ledges (windows and balconies) etc...

2] Quite a bit of screen jitter and tearing...

3] Camera clipping has not been improved on from BF2, there are some bad clips, especially when the camera falls through the ground

4] Camera, for the most part, is to close to your killer. Quite a bit of clipping going on there as well

5] Character falls through the floor when going down on stomach... that is quite amusing but looks so horrible and poor for Frostbite 2

6] When players are killed, I watch their dead bodies start slowly shifting and floating away??? Why... For some reason, whilst still laying on the ground, the dead players' bodies start to move incrementally left or right until they disappear.

My honest opinion is... these issue will not be fixed... because we have some similar issues in BF2. I thought Frostbite 2 would solve these, especially the shadowing and camera clipping...

DICE is going to lose a lot of credibility if they don't do something for the console version...

Compare Killzone 3 to BF3... and you see why PS3 exclusives actually challenge the PC today... still!

Lol! I couldn't tell who I was shooting at. I didn't see the floating bush but I did fall through the floor a few times. Haha, I think it will be better in time for release. I can't see DICE or EA releasing a retail game in that bad of condition. I'm pretty sure everything will be fix except the screen tearing.

Lol DJ, I never thumbed you down... and funnily enough, your suggestion is a good one buddy, so don't you worry. I did head over to the forums... and that is where I read about the code being 2 months old... there is hope yet in BF3...

The forums have a longer list of issues than me... especially about the menu system and how quick and easy it is not to change weapons etc.

I am not too fussed about that - I am more of a technical whore when it comes to the engine and I don't like shoddy work...

Anyway, I thumbed you up to make up for the negative thumb downer you attracted earlier from someone else :)

If you honestly like a console so much why waste your time trying to get other people who are against you to submit rather then do the thing you like which is to enjoy that console.

Honestly, the console wars are very childish... but i think pinning down developers for shoddy work is very important... remember those hard earned dollars you are giving them... Do you always want to feel bad when you look at your product your purchased on screen (and in good faith) and feel let down... it is a horrible feeling...

It is horrible because you know that if you were at the developers and you saw this, you wold be pointing it out immediately for fixing... and you wonder if they are somewhat blind to it. Taking into consideration the pressures they have to release a product, if the basics of your engine is problematic, then there is really something wrong.

Ive now downloaded and played the beta to my xbox and my PC as well as my PS3 - PC wins for sure - but im disapponted to say the xbox version is better than the PS3 version - and not just graphics - the controls are tighter and feel better. very disapointing. must do better EA

Let's face it Xbox 360 has better graphics then the ps3, for multi-platform games.

I know uncharted, killzone are some to mention that have great graphics but I am talking about multi-platforms here.

It's graphics card is stronger and also I tend to notice that xbox 360 games have better framrates then ps3.

Maybe it's the dvd read speed of the ps3 and the graphics card's poor ability to not push as many polygons or whatever it is mentioned on technobuffalo.

I know the beta is on the hardrive but I was mentioning ps3 games using the blu-ray drive.

Cause I noticed that the xbox 360 version of GTA 4 is supremely better has a better framerate and loads much faster.

As far as the ps3 and 360 graphics are concerned. I'm not impressed. If that is really final look on console it is not worth it. The pc version is another story. The visuals on pc are amazing. I tried the ps3 beta first and after playing in alpha test on pc I knew what version I would be sticking with. The controls on console also are a big factor for me. I could not believe how sluggish everything was. It didn't compare to mw at all. I think they should have taken movement from kz2 that one would have been a winner. Back to graphics, on console they could at least output in hd. 720p is killing battlefield 3. Since mw is full 1080.
