Dead Space 3 Brings About Some Changes For Isaac
The game has yet to be officially unveiled, but that hasn't stopped the baseline info and rumors from spreading.
The first details seem to be accurate, but it has generated all sorts of new questions. One of them involves the protagonist, Isaac Clarke: how'd he get to the planet of Tau Volantis after the events of Dead Space 2?
Well, according to Siliconera, Isaac is sent on a mission to rescue a woman on Tau Volantis and bring her back to Mars. Strangely, there's a warrant out for Isaac's arrest; EarthGov wants him for some reason, so he accepts the mission to get away from the authorities. And apparently, Ellie goes with him. Now, here come some potential spoilers...
POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
So it seems that Isaac has a split personality in the new adventure, as "Shadow Isaac" taunts the "normal Isaac" at every turn. This shadow will ridicule him for doing something stupid and evidently, the two sides of Isaac will continue to bicker throughout the game. How "Shadow Isaac" plays into the overall story arc, we don't know. But won't it be interesting to find out?
Can't wait for Dead Space 3.

So far as I'm concerned, this choice only cements Dead Space as being a a action horror game with poorly handled horror elements. Just my opinion of course.

Personally, I think that if they keep mixing it up like they've been doing then I'll be fine with that.
Edit: Btw, they've already done voices. It'd be kind of repetitive to keep hearing voices when we've been hearing them since the 1st one.

Maybe it was just me then, but I figured that Isaac and Ellie were off to take the fight to EarthGov and destroying the original marker on Earth.
But the post-credits audio snippet does mention, what, ten other Marker sites? So I suppose that it makes sense to continue it, with Isaac destroying one of them after the other... I can only see tedium ensuing after too many iterations following the same path though.
As for voices, when did Isaac ever hear voices? I remember plenty of visions of Nicole, and occasionally she would speak to him, but I don't recall random voices popping into his head, demanding him to do something, or just nagging away at him, which is what I'd rather see than Shadow Isaac. We've seen visions since the first one. A different shape to them doesn't really change the idea. Just sayin'

Anyways, this sounds excellent so far. I'm loving the setting, the story, and this split personality deal. And since the setting's so different from the last 2, they could really mix it up and bring us new kinds of scares.
The only thing I'm wondering right now is who's sending Isaac on this mission? But I guess answers will come in time.

Anyways that seems like an intriguing mechanic. I loved the hallucination moments in Dead Space 2, despite their minor implementations. Dead Space 2 might have been more actiony than the first, but it was still so much fun and it was much harder to survive.
