PSXE Poll Update: Most Interested In Getting EnRAGEd

We say it's one of the best games of the year.

And the combination of our recommendation and other critical acclaim has resulted in plenty of gamer interest.

id Software's new sci-fi shooter is beautiful and fantastically addicting, and while a large number of our readers just say it isn't up their alley, the majority are intrigued. They said they planned to pick it up on day one, while many others said they'd probably get it some time soon. It's one of those games that combines standard FPS mechanics with some open-ended freedom and even a few distinct role-playing elements. The post-apocalyptic setting works extremely well and the entire presentation gels together nicely.

This week, we want to know what your current stance is on the PlayStation Vita. Has it changed since learning more about it over the course of the year? Will you be one of the excited consumers who pick it up on day one? Or is this one of those wait-and-see situations? Let us know.

I'll roll with RAGE at some point, same with Vita. I just put up $250 for a Slim though (My mistress has died and been resuscitated just today) so I can't be spending too much.

Better than getting it stolen like me. Hopefully my insurance pulls through with enough money to cover the deductible and more...

I've played Rage a few times over the past week. I really like it. It's a solid game. The textures bothered me for a bit but not so much anymore. It would be nice to see a patch to make them load faster but no big deal. Looks great and I'm having fun with it :)

As for the Vita, I'll be getting it day one. I'm still interested to see what the game prices will be though.

haha, i brought it back to life with the hairdryer trick but its running hot and I know its a temporary fix so i bought a slim and I'm gonna do a transfer while the old one lives. I'm trying to find out if I can just swap the old hard drive into the new model but I don't think i can.

I'm fairly certain the new PS3 will reformat the drive. The transfer feature should copy most of the data, though.

I preordered the game. Didn't work for me. There were too many texture pop in, to the point of annoyance. It was the first FPS to make me nauseas due to the oversensitivity of the controls. Please let me know if its just me that is seeing this

The texture pop-in goes away after a few seconds, so I don't see why everyone complains about it so much. I don't even notice it anymore.

But you're right about the sensitivity; the control is VERY touchy, as I mention in my review. I got used to that, too, though.

It was really embarrassing for me as a hardcore gamer, I was about to throw up in 3 minutes of gameplay. The game looks fun, but it's a shame I can't continue.

As for the pop in, it disappears in a couple seconds, then reappears each time i move the camera.

Then you haven't seen the PC version, Ben. I don't know what id was thinking, but this game is obviously a console-to-pc port when it comes to this version. It's terrible, and the textures make me cry, I don't know exactly how it looks on consoles, but on pc...it's just..ugh. Some textures can be great, others are just like, ps1 graphics. it's just mind boggling.

download the update, that has completely eliminated the pop in issues.
poor textures though, well, were going to need 10 miracles to fix that!

btw if you have a high enough card, 1.5GB recommended 1.3GB minimum enable the dev console and unlock the 8K textures. that helped me a little, just google RAGE dev console commands and enter everything you find there into the dev console, or even better into a .cfg file.
it certainly does not make the game look how it should, but it helps.
the update totally got rid of pop in though which is half way there, but it also removed GPU transcoding so if you still want to use it you have to use a dev command.

I know, I've already had a config made, but the textures still didn't seem that great on certain items, it just made me go, UGH. but here's to hoping.

I'd totally LOVE to get the Vita on day one. However, I'm not sure how it'll be priced in my country, and have a feeling that it will be a quite out of budget for me at launch. Sad as it is, I may well have to wait about a year to get it.

But get it I will :)

I've never been a fan of launch systems or handhelds. There is always bugs and I don't know if it's just my luck but every time I purchase a brand new piece of technology it breaks on me. I'll get the vita but prolly get it after a year. I'd imagine that they will release a 4g vita. And Rage is a phenomenal game and worth picking it up day one.

I bought RAGE day one but haven't started it yet. Finally started inFamous 2 and was sucked in. RAGE looks to be my next played game though.

The Vita will be mine D1 which I wish was today but I guess I can wait. It's killing me though.

I'm waiting for the price drop on Rage while I consider a purchase.

As for the Vita I've never been interested in portable gaming. If I'm at work I don't stop long enough to play. While I'm travelling I'm too busy being the driver and when I'm at home I'll play my PS3. Something like the Vita just doesn't have a gap to fill in my life.

Rage is great. Mucho fun. Just wish there was a more coherent story. Just seems to be all over the place.

I'll have Vita on day one. Already saved up the funds for it.

Eh, RAGE isn't really my thing. Way too many other games out and coming out that I want to get before I can even think about touching another FPS... no matter how good. *grumbles* they said BFBC was good too.. *Muttley grumble*

And I'll want the Vita Day 1, but it isn't looking likely for me to be able to get it until a bit later down the track... Ah well.

im really enjoying RAGE so far.
its exactly what you would expect from a id game, gameplay wise of course.
graphics wise, well.......
all ill say is is this the best you can do!?
i mean the console versions look crap, but the PC version looks even worse!
come on id, what happened to the fathers of the FPS, and the fathers of amazing graphics!?
every single game yous released blew everyone away!
i still remember buying doom and just sitting there for a few hours in awe!
it was drop dead gorgeous!
hell, even the new mods for doom 3 look better then this!
how can a 7 year old id tech 4 game look better then a brand new id tech 5 game!?
all i can say is how the kings have fallen!
id have lost their touch, 3D realms went down the sh*tter, $E has gone down the sh*tter, crapcom has gone down the sh*tter.
amazing how much a few years can change!
from head hauno to the slave!

as for vita, id be getting it day one if $ony did not treat their fans like criminals!
but thats fine, they want to treat their fans like that, they want to be greedy selfish f*cks then thats fine i wont give them any more of my cashola.

Vita is day one for me! This thing is more powerful than any tablets in the current market, and certainly any smart-phones with the quad core tech. It will be the perfect go-to for apps and such. I just hope it'll have a good internet browser.

Also, the Vita doesn't have an HDMI port right? If it does, that would just sold me more, and I'd be pre-ordering very early.

Looks like pretty graphics doesn't impress me anymore, games with the art direction of Crysis and Rage look like crap to me.

Watched some walk trough of Rage and the gameplay isn't for me, I can see why got some good reviews but no thanks I wouldn't play it even if they pay me for it.

It's sold out of all the JB-HiFi stores in Brisbane. Thousands of copies of Rage by the way...

I knew I should have picked it up day 1...

Kudos to those that have picked it up and are now crying into their controllers...
