BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend Confirmed For PS3, 360

If you're a hardcore fighting fan, you're well acquainted with the critically acclaimed BlazBlue franchise.

Aksys Games first revealed that BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend would come to North America at some point. At the time, it was only confirmed for the PlayStation Vita but now, the publisher has announced that the game will also release for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

The good news is that all three versions will arrive on the same day (in Japan at least), and the Vita iteration will be a launch title for the new portable. This may happen in North America as well, but SCEA hasn't settled on a date for the Vita's release; maybe when we get that, we'll know when Continuum Shift Extend will show up. The new fighter adds Relius Clover as a new playable character plus the DLC characters from the previous game, and the developer has even rebalanced the entire roster.

Arc System Works knows what they're doing with this series. If you're a die-hard fighting fan, you'll want to indulge in all the additions and upgrades the newest installment will offer. Team online battles, new story scenarios, and even an Unlimited Mars mode for those who want a serious challenge. Good stuff.

Blazblue is an awesome series but it's too hardcore for me, game is one of the best fighting games ever but the pace is just too fast and I never last(yea, rhyme it down!!).

Sucks, people payed 8 buck for each dlc character, the last one was a few months ago and out of the blue a new version with all of them and there's no update or dlc patch for the people that bought those characters so they need to spend money to get the new game.

This is worst than UMVC3 because they give you a ton of new characters but Blazblue just one new.

I see this as more of a complete edition of Blazblue Continuum Shift than an entirely new game like UMVC3. Also, its more than just one new character, the new modes and additions to the story mode are also nice for both newcomers(the orignal BB story will be covered, though I'm not sure in what way) as well as people that follow along with the series convoluted plot. I do agree that the new character should be DLC, but the additional gameplay content does justify a new retail release imo. Plus, these games aren't released at the usual $60 that new releases tend to have, so it isn't a complete rip-off. I think this should have taken a SSFIV Arcade Edition approach, having a retail release in addition to DLC for those who already have the previous release.

Jeez, no offense but what is it with fighting games this year about releasing the same game with a few upgrades every year or so. Pretty sure this all started with crapcom. Sigh, it sucks because I'll probably end up buying em too :(

I know you it says Unlimited Mars mode on Siliconera as well, but that's a typo. It's Unlimited Wars mode.
