  While some may argue the X-Games and skateboarding aren't quite as popular as they were a few years ago, there are still millions of fans out there who always enjoy an extreme virtual experience. At first, only Activision's Tony Hawk franchise ruled the roost, but these days, EA has brought in some competition with Skate. The sequel will release next week, and we have nothing but high expectations. They've certainly spared no expense in terms of advertising and press information; we've seen countless video presentations and plenty of hands-on previews that are all very promising. January is kinda thin, too, so Skate 2 could easily be the best release of the month.
