But over the past couple of years, the flailing category has enjoyed a huge rejuvenation, thanks to old-school 2D fighters gaining more nostalgic recognition and the likes of Soul Calibur IV and Street Fighter IV. Referring to the former point, The King of Fighters XII is guaranteed to appeal to all those who were fascinated by arcade fighters back in the day; it may have more flash, but it's still the same style of gameplay. You'd be surprised how many gravitate towards this pure format...or maybe you're one of them!
