This is just out of control. "Critical Hits" are a common theme in video games but there are a whole lot of 'em going on here, and the combat is both bloody and brutal. It's odd that such violence is superimposed over a cel-shaded design as we've commonly associated tamer visuals with such a presentation. But either way, Borderlands will definitely be a highly sought-after title, even if it is forced to release in jam-packed October. The game is technically an RPG but its FPS mechanic reminds us a great deal of Deus Ex and if it's that good...well, we'll be plenty satisfied.
