The addition of multiplayer isn't the only new element in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. Although we'll still get a satisfying single-player campaign and the game is undeniably AC, the developers talk about some structural differences in this fresh TGS 2010 interview. It may concern those who loved last year's Assassin's Creed II but based on the media and info, you probably shouldn't worry. Ubisoft has this series nailed down and we expect an excellent third installment.
