Sometimes, it can be forgivable if the game is expressly designed to be an arcade fun-fest, but when it makes a real attempt at realism, AI is crucial. In this video, the team behind the upcoming off-road racer, Baja, talks about the importance of having intelligent opponents on the track. In Baja, the computer won't have an unfair advantage just because the driver is perfect; in fact, they worked very hard to insure the driving would be open to mistakes.
