The Most Impressive PS4 Launch Title Would Be: Gran Turismo 6

Perhaps one could make the argument for one of the anticipated "4s:" Uncharted 4, Killzone 4, or God of War IV.

But in reality, I think the game that might showcase the new PlayStation's talents best is Gran Turismo 6. Obviously, there's no guarantee GT6 shows up for the PS4's launch but Sony has put a premium on quality launch software recently (that's why they held up the Vita launch), and they understand the importance of having AAA must-have games available when a new piece of hardware hits the market. It's just so important.

And considering the projected PS4 launch date (possibly late 2013), GT6 might not be entirely out of the realm of possibility. Also, let's not forget that Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec was the first true-blue system seller for the PS2; this is a franchise that has sold around 68 million overall and GT5 has passed 9 million. That's pretty damn amazing for an exclusive title, especially considering that GT5 has essentially sold what the last two Uncharted games have sold combined (or thereabouts).

Lastly, the technical prowess required to truly fit Kazunori Yamauchi's vision is staggering. He has even admitted that in the past. GT5 pushes the PS3 and there's no doubt that GT6 could really take advantage of the PS4's expected power, especially if we're going to more accurately include vehicle damage and other matters of depth. If GT6 releases with the PS4, you'll really see some fireworks...

some modes in GT5 were impossible to beat with a controler.
i hope they do something about that in GT6

What do you mean impossible to beat with a controller?

He is talking about the Red Bull Challenges. Controlling the X1 with a DS3 is serious business and something I can't do good enough to get a Gold in.

Not trying to sound hateful or start an arguement, but in my opinion, GT is not meant to be played with a controller, it's meant to be played with a steering wheel. The driving force gt from logitech (which I own two of) is the bare minimum steering wheel you must own to get the best experience out of GT5. Controllers do NOT do this game justice, in fact using a contoller does this game a disservice.

All events should be beatable, unless you're strictly talking about getting a gold, which I personally think should remain a challenge. There's nothing really that they can do except to either not include such event, or some kind of auto-drive assist. I'd rather they not take away anything because the X20XX is one heck of an experience that you can't really get anywhere else.

Now while I agree with you Ben, I believe that if GT6 comes to the PS3 the "fireworks" will be there as well.

Look no further then the mass of improvements GT4 saw over GT3.

There does definitely need to be a game on there that shows off the new machine, but also has a fan base big enough to make people want to switch over to the new console. I agree with GT5, but I'm not sure if it's the right genre that will appeal to the masses.

Lol, maybe Sony needs to chase down Bungie and get them to do a timed exclusive on the new system to attract some MS/Halo fans over to buy a new Sony product..I'm kidding of course, but it is what MS did last time around...

I've never been into Grand Turismo, but it would certainly serve as an excellent technical demonstration.

Yup! Kaz is into visuals (graphics) as he is into gameplay (physics). When you are ambitious to both of those things, you'll always feel the need for more power. In turn, it should be an excellent technical demonstration.

Though I think there are other games that would be better, this would be the best system seller by far, as it appeals to all walks of life. Just about every person I know that owns a PS3 has GT5, and I am talking about FPS players, RPG players, Action players and they all have this game(I am also refering to people I actually know, not the PS3 friends list).

What would impress me the most, is if Sony nicked one of the big multiplat titles and made it exclusive. Just as a little something in return for MS making those Japanese titles exclusive for the Xbox in the beginning of the furrent generation.

Just think about it... Fallout 4 + expansions, only on Playstation? Omg...

I think the PC gamers would riot. They are already angry enough at consoles players

Oh yes of course they would. As would x-box fans. And this is a complete flight of fantasy of course, it will *never* happen.

But getting an exclusive that used to be multiplat means that a *lot* of gamers out there would have a first hand experience with the franchise, even if they've never owned a PS before. So in regards to getting new guys over to the PS platform I can't think of any better way it could be done.

But, again, this will of course never happen.

If and IF it does release for the PS4, I hope they've been working on it for at least the past two years. I don't want Sony to rush PD out of nowhere like they did with GTPSP just to help launch a few PSPGo early on. There are just some titles that are not worth sacrificing quality just so Sony can "use" it to help sell early launch units.

I predict Uncharted 4, Killzone 4, and GT6 or God of War 4 all being launch titles. The development cycles seem about right, although with GT, u can never be sure.

no way in hell!
GT takes far too long to make, especially if he still sticks to the dirt, rally, V8, all the other add ons GT5 had.
it will certainly look amazing, but any of the other 4s will blow it out of the water!

Considering it's Playstations biggest IP I would agree. But if we could get Uncharted 4, Killzone 4 and GT6 that would be the best launch line up ever!

I suspect GT on PS4 will look like VR as far as cars and tracks go.

I see GT on PS4 being more of a value added product. Where cars, tracks, and new content is continuously offered as the years go on. I know GT5 does this to an extent as well but I think Sony will outright market the new game as an ever-evolving experience that will probably have paid premium enhancements. Basically, one core game releases as a platform to build from.
