Sales Rumor: PS4 Sells 2.5 Times More Than Xbox One In Germany
The PlayStation 4 is undoubtedly more popular than the Xbox One in Europe.
But in one country, it seems Sony's console is 2.5 times more popular.
This according to a NeoGAF user's translation of a report seen at Next-Gamer. If the translation is accurate, it means the PS4 sold 250,000 units in Germany by the end of 2013. In stark contrast, the Xbox One only managed to sell 100,000.
The figures came from market research company Media Control GfK so they should be right. Based on what we're hearing from various European retail outlets, the PS4 could be trouncing Microsoft's console in most countries across the pond. That's not a gigantic surprise, though, as the PS3 routinely outsold the Xbox 360 in Europe for most of the previous generation. Given the positive hype and word-of-mouth surrounding Sony's new console, the result might be a very wide sales gap in the new generation.
I still want to know the US numbers. It seems clear that the PS4 will win the worldwide race, though.
