Insider: Watch Dogs PS4 Better Than Xbox One Version

For the most part, the different versions of multiplatform productions are pretty similar to one another.

However, one industry insider believes that when it comes to Ubisoft's Watch Dogs, the PlayStation 4 will have the edge. It's well-known insider Ahsan "thuway" Rasheed, who recently Tweeted:

"Wait till Watch_Dogs :). PC>>PS4>>>>Xbox One >>>>>WiiU."

There's nothing to substantiate that vague claim but hey, maybe his sources are right. And maybe it's just his opinion. We won't know until we start seeing some comparisons online after the anticipated title arrives. However, we've already seen some multiplatform games that operate in a higher resolution on the PS4 (when compared to the resolution on the Xbox One version). So, it's not out of the realm of possibility.

He added that as time goes on-

"Further PS4 optimizations in year 3/4 will widen the delta of performance gap."

Not so good for Microsoft if that's true.

What is most telling is the number of "greater than" signs he uses, there are only 2 between PC and PS4, then they increase.

Good catch. That's quiet a bit of greater than between PS4 and Xbone though, nearly as much as the difference between Xbone and Wii U.

I see only "two" between PC and PS4, but if you think about it, that's probably a high end PC that costs hundreds of dollars more than the PS4. That's a difference I'm willing to sacrifice to save a butt load of money.

Is that a thing? Do people use that to communicate if something is better that way?

I would like to play the PC version if Watch Dogs is a Game of the Year material. If not, PS4 version. I need to upgrade my PC and I could get a free download if I buy certain GFX cards.

I'm sure it will be great, but I'll be bummed if a cross-gen game is major GOTY winner in 2014.

The only thing I'm worried about is if, regardless of the tools at your disposal, all the missions would kinda end up having you do the same thing.

Or side missions that completely lack variety like the Assassin's Creed games pre ACIV.

I'm going to remain cautiously optimistic though, but this is one that I will read reviews before making a purchasing decision.

This early in the generation I can very easily see that happen, World. Especially when one of the conceptually most interesting and anticipated titles indeed are cross-gen.

X1 has a serious problem if multiplats are considerably better on Sony's platform. That was the precise reason I eventually bought a 360 -- I got tired of playing inferior versions of almost every third party game out there. Eventually Sony and developers figured out how to have parity across the versions, but Sony spent YEARS and lost god knows how much market share due to years of subpar ports.

Will be VERY interesting to watch this unfold...

There are no reason to buy a Xbone if you got a PS4. Simple as that.

But, but Titanfall, Gears, and Halo? Guns and lots of guns on the Xbox!

Seriously though, I have a friend who's leaning towards the PS4 pretty badly, but he HAS to have his Halo, so he got the Xbone first. It can be a pretty valid point.

I enjoyed the Gears games a lot, and Titanfall looks fun (even though I don't really care for competitive multiplayer, I'd like to give this one a try some time). But Titanfall is available on PC (and 360), it's sequels will almost surely be available on all platforms, and even Gears is NOT owned by Microsoft and could very well go multiplat whenever they make more.

Regardless, two games -- one announced, one assumed -- are not nearly enough to justify a $500 price tag.

Titanfall looks epic indeed but that's rather an argument for a gaming PC as the second platform.

In my opinion there's mainly one argument for the Xbone and that's if that is where most of your friends are found. That's absolutely a legit argument when choosing a platform.

I thought he was reffering to the release date of WatchDogs.

The hardware of xbox and ps4 is so similiar that it cant be such a big difference.

Ummm, where do you get release date out of that? You don't use a "greater" sign for an earlier release.

I guess it wasn't really a surprise, consider it's the same thing with Tomb Raider.
