Killzone: Shadow Fall Hits Sales Milestone

If you bought the PlayStation 4, chances were, you picked up Killzone: Shadow Fall with it.

Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. has announced that global sales of the popular PS4 exclusive, Killzone: Shadow Fall, passed 2.1 million units as of January 15, 2014. That's not too shabby, right?

The latest entry in the award-winning franchise provided players with a graphical tour de force; an amazing visual accomplishment the whole way 'round. Nothing else about it really felt "next-gen" but even so, it was a solid, well-constructed, entertaining shooter. Said Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida:

"I am thrilled that so many users have been enjoying KILLZONE SHADOW FALL since the launch of PS4. This title fully embraces the creativity of the development team at Guerrilla Games*2 based in the Netherlands, and is a great representation of what SCE WWS has to offer. SCE will continue to deliver exciting software titles, and is currently developing more than 30 titles including DRIVECLUB™, inFAMOUS Second Son™ and The Order: 1886™, which offer entertainment experiences only possible on PS4."

I say it deserves these sales. The game took way too much flak for falling shy of our expectations, which were admittedly through the roof. And as I said in my review, as far as FPSs go, this is a darn good game. So, what's wrong with that?

OMG didn't sell a billion copies! FAILURE!

Just joking. I loved the game!

I can't wait to see what Guerrilla Games gives us next!

I'd love to see an RPG from these masters of video games.

Glad to hear they hit their milestone, it's a great game! The multiplayer is very well balanced and the thought they put into the game really shows! I'm loving it!

They do need a decent writer lol. I'll say that. Otherwise KZ: Shadow Fall is about as good an FPS as they get.

I don't get it.

I didn't think the ending was anywhere near as bad as KZ3.

The bonus mission at the end was awesome.

This is mind-blowing given the size of the PS4 install base. Seriously, that's close to to half of the potential buyers for the game.

I just got the game today.I can't get over how beautiful it is. Aside from needing an entire clip do bring someone down online without headshots, it's a great game. I like how they used the speaker on the DS4 but honestly I think I can do without the touchpad. I have injustice too that uses it as well and I just don't really like it.

It gets easier once you work out how to use the OWL to the full potential. Then enemies become a joke for a while.

BF 4 was such a major failure for me IM assuming that others bought and tried out this game in it's place.

I think this game is great so far. They did a great job of implementing new mechanics (zero-g, freefall, the OWL) and they all worked really well.

I never had some of the technical issues that you had with enemies getting stuck in walls and I thought it sounded great with my setup. I thought the audiologs were too loud through the controller, but you can fiddle with those levels as well.

I also think the story and locales are a little better than KZ3. I probably would give it around a 8.6-8.7, but all around tons of fun. I'll probably try the MP sometime this weekend after I beat it.

by far the worst game in the series!
a perfect example of openness not suiting everything, and in fact ruining allot of things.
please GG go back to the way KZ2 was!
oh well thank god their next game is a new IP, hopefully that will shake things up a little.

it was about the only exclusive available at launch so you would expect it to sell well. I enjoyed it a lot. Multiplayer isn't bad also
