The Order: 1886 Estimated To Hit PS4 "Later In The Year"

We still don't know when one of the most promising PlayStation 4 titles will arrive.

Ready at Dawn is cranking away on The Order: 1886, which has received plenty of press over the last year or so. But the closest thing we've ever received to a date is GameStop's temporary placeholder date of June 1, 2014.

However, some Tweets by Sony Santa Monica and Ready at Dawn have led us to believe that the estimated release window is in autumn, which sorta falls in line with what Sony UK boss Fergal Gara just said: According to OPM UK, it'll be "later in the year." That basically implies a holiday season launch, which would make the most sense.

However, as a new IP, it's always difficult to get traction, especially against established franchises. Maybe it'd be better to give this game some breathing room...

I'm okay with the big wait on this, gets the juices flowing. Those new physics are gonna show some wow factor for the new gen. Day 1 for sure, The Order and inFamous will make 2014 great.

Back in today's third person realm I'm blown away by Tomb Raider. It's so facking stable compared to before. It runs with the swiftness of a Dreamcast game but the graphics of a PS4 game.

Hmm, will have to pick up Tomb Raider one of these days. I was very impressed with the graphical overhaul and never played it the first time.

I think this is the game most likely to be Sony's "big" exclusive this fall. I'm not sure Uncharted would be ready in time and they clearly expect BIG things from this one (and if you ever played the PSP God of Wars, you're excited for this too.)

If Uncharted isn't ready for the Holidays, it will be Sony's big exclusive for then, otherwise, I think they'll be trying to push it out earlier, maybe Sep-Oct, just to give it a little bit more time to raise awareness about itself.

crazy to go up against the big guns (no pun intended ..) in the fall - makes much more sense to release it during a barren period like in June ...

I actually didn't think The Order will be out this year. It would be fantastic if they can make it.

of course its releasing in the holiday season, its illegal to release big blockbuster exclusives in any other time these days!
well, with the obvious exception of GoW and TLoU.
another reason why i cant see uncharted releasing this year, $onys not going to risk cannibalising the sales of either of those games by releasing them so close to each other.
