Next-Gen Sonic Entry Slated For 2015?

That's what this new generation is missing. A new Sonic!

A promotional sign first spotted at Spindash.de is making the rounds; it was on display at a toy fair in Nuremberg, Germany. As you can see, it implies that a new Sonic the Hedgehog entry will drop next year for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Wii U.

Furthermore, the sign also shows Sonic: Lost World for Wii U and 3DS and Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games: Sochi 2014 for Wii U. For the record, Sega hasn't officially announced any new Sonic installments. The legendary blue mascot hasn't really been himself for a while, although we've seen a few glimpses of his former glory. The question is whether or not that type of game can still be popular these days.

A speedy platformer...? Well, maybe.

They should make another Sonic Spinball. That game was fantastic on the Genesis.

As long as Sega's three game contract with Nintendo is complete, I suppose it's a-go. Not sure if I'd get into it, but I'd certainly be interested if it turned out to be good.

of course it can still be popular, it just needs to be a good game.
the past few sonic games struggled because they couldent make up their mind what they wanted to be.
a little 2D, a little 3D, a little this a little that.
they need to pick something and stick to it!
id love to see another sonic colors game, that was so much fun!
would be nice to see another episode 4 downloadable title game too, those did a great job of reviving the old school sonic formula!
just fix the heavy slow sluggish controls!!!!!!!!

I really really liked Sonic Generations. It gave you modern sonic if you liked the fast behind the hog sort of view, or classic which was a return to his roots.

I personally loved modern sonics levels, they were so fun to try and speed run.

If they can make another game like that I think they can pull him out of the rut he fell back into with sonic the lost world.

Most of you already know my opinion on this.

Old school sonic. Old school Mario.
remake them whatever way you want they will never be half as fun or addictive as 2D to me.

The intro music for Sonic the Hedgehog alone still gives me goosebumps when I fire up the old mega drive.

Still, anything Sonic I will give a chance to! I'd love a proper Sonic made by someone with skills like insomniac.
