Would You Rather Have The Last Guardian On The PS3 Or PS4?
For a great many PlayStation 3 owners, it is the most missed title of this generation.
And with so many developmental snags and other internal strife, it's no surprise that we still don't have a concrete release date for The Last Guardian. There has been much talk about it being saved for the next generation; perhaps it'll arrive during the first months of the PS4's tenure.
But that brings up an interesting question: Would you rather see this game release on the PS4? Or do you want Sony to bring it out for the current hardware? There are pros and cons to each, of course: On the one hand, it sucks that we'd have to wait even longer for the game and furthermore, we'd all have to buy an expensive new piece of hardware to play it. On the other hand, the team could feasibly do something really special by utilizing next-gen hardware and we'd get a truly memorable and perhaps even revolutionary experience. And can you imagine The Last Guardian being a PS4 launch title?
But then again, maybe it's best to keep the game on track for this generation. Given the amount of time and resources this project has sucked up by now, you'll want the biggest possible audience, right? Launching only on the PS4 could be financial suicide; there'd only be a tiny fraction of the PS3 audience. That, of course, is always a big stumbling black for all games that release exclusively for new hardware that almost nobody owns. So what do you say? The Last Guardian now or later?

huge install base and still getting ridiculously bigger by the week which means more sales and when the game comes out even more sales just because of the game which is more sales for Sony and Team ICO in software and hardware.
all those 70+ million (80/90+ million by the time the game comes out) will already have a PS3 so you can play it and there's no need to shell out guaranteed $300+ for a console.
Team ICO already started working on it on the PS3 and know the hardware, if they switch to PS4 they have to change everything which costs money, time and manpower and learn the new PS4 hardware.
Pros for PS4:
Better hardware so in theory it would be a bigger, better game and more can be done (depending on how much better PS4 is than PS3 depends on how much bigger, better and how much more the game would be on PS4 than PS3) but of course the devs have to know how to develop for PS4.
PS4 will automatically have an enormously, gigantic, AAA must have at launch or close to launch (assuming it releases at launch or close to launch) so there PS4 won't have to depends on other devs/pubs and PS3 already has a legendary amount of AAA, must have, best games ever exclusive to it (almost all being Sony games) so it doesn't "need" more.

Error in the article. Something about a stumbling black, which is something I see on a near daily basis. The drunk problem in this town is shocking.
Anywho... I have to say PS4. Wasn't it said quite recently that the team had to rework a rather large portion of the game? Maybe that's a cue to indicate that it's headed to the PS4 no matter what happens.
I'd love to see it on the next console, and as a launch window title because that would give it a guaranteed blockbuster, and quite possibly a killer app, from Day One. There is incredible aura that has been built up around Team ICO games that would influence a lot of core gamers to make the jump immediately and besides that, it would be capable of far greater AI computation and goodness knows what else. The PS3 gives it a better install base, but people still generally aren't likely to pick it up if they're not previously interested.
In either case, Sony NEED to advertise this with the entirety of their yearly budget. This will deserve more sales than it can possibly wind up getting. Yup, I said it.

id want it for ps3 because of the larger install base, and hopefully it would help it sell really well.
than developers would stand back and say wow people do like artistic thoughtful games, and go make their own.
plus we get another awesome game, and the time saved releasing it now could be spent doing a sequel.
but than id like it on ps4 simply because of the more advanced technology they can do more with it, and lets be honest launch systems always have few games and fewer good ones so this would be a big boost as a launch title!
if i had to choose one over the other id go ps4, because the benefits of that id expect to be greater than the benefits of the ps3.
i doubt it would sell that well to make publishers stop making shooters, and $ony JP like to take their sweet time so 1 year in their calendar is like 1 day!
even if it did release on ps3, we wouldent see their first ps4 title till like 4 years in!

I guess for software sales, it would make more sense on the PS3. They've dumped so much time and money into this project that they'll need the big install base for it to pay off. But if they want a hugely hyped launch title to push PS4's off the shelves, TLG might fit the bill.
Do we really want Team ICO to have to learn ANOTHER new console architecture though? They've struggled enough with the PS3. I wonder if they could even make the PS4 launch.
I don't know. I've become disenchanted with this game. They had me on the edge of my seat for so long that I fell off.
