PS4 Users Experiencing Login Issues

Let's just hope the issues disappear soon.

Many PlayStation 4 users are unable to log in to the PlayStation Network today, and Sony has acknowledged the problem. Currently, they're trying to figure out what's happening. Here's the Tweet:

"We are aware that some PS4 users are experiencing login issues. We're currently looking into it and will provide an update soon."

The problems seem to affect the PSN and the Store. We haven't seen an update in the past 12 hours or so but that doesn't really mean anything. As for why it's particularly affecting the PS4, perhaps it has something to do with that recently released firmware update. Update 1.60 delivered support for surround-sound headsets such as the Pulse, so maybe that's messing with something in the system.

Then again, maybe it's unrelated. We'll just have to wait, I guess.

It's related. 1.60 made it so I can't log into the Store any more.

For my fellow gamers, if you want to play Outlast you can still go onto the store from your PC and choose "download to PS4" to get your free content.

I should have gone to the website. I would have but I would log on the store click a link then it would kick me out. I just had hope the next time it would work for me.

I was able to login to the store, but the 'What's new' section and game information, such as activities and trophies weren't showing up for a brief period of time.

This issue is really amnoying. All I wanted was to download Outlast and give it a go. It took me about twenty minutes of trying and after I did download the game it wouldn't let me play because I didn't have the rights to the game.. Well eventually it did after trying for about 2 minutes of clicking on the game.

Last night I couldn't access the store or my library app - kept giving me an error saying it wasn't available in my region. Strange. Also, the game info pages for each game wouldn't show.

But as of this morning all is fine.

Seems like since launch it's a crapshoot whether I can access the PSN Store. Sometimes I get in, other times I can't.

I still have my PS2 (slim) and some games, but haven't played that in months I think. I'm personally still quite invested in my PS3 at the moment (and games yet to be added to my collection for said platform) to be saving up for a PS4. I do really want one though, but waiting until glitches get ironed out further and features to be added, as well as the price to drop).

The RPG fan in me is thankful I own multiple PS2s and will for the rest of my life. I love my PS3s but they're mainly for media streaming.

Two more days till Bravely Default!!

Hope my PS2 lasts a very long time, but if the PS4 can run emulate original PS games, and especially if it can pull off amazing PS2 emulation for those of us who still have the PS2 DVD-ROMS, that would be FANtastic! :D But to all who are experiencing issues with the PS4 at the present time, I meant no disrespect and hope the issue(s) are solved as promptly as possible. :)

I suggest you back up all your games onto your PC if you have the storage. It's pretty simple (takes about 10 minutes per game) to back up your games into iso files. It's also a great way to try them out in HD. I'm looking forward to the FFX HD release but honestly I've been playing the game in HD for years because of my PC.

HD :) So you rip them in ISO format to be able to play them, only on PC, and I'd guess PS2 games also require some special emulation software? The only back-ups I'm most familiar with is music CDs, which I use Windows Media Player, iTunes and the PS3 itself. I don't think I have enough storage at the moment anyway, though I may look into it. Thank you kindly for the suggestion. :)

ahhhhhhhh good old $ony botching ANOTHER FW update!
some may say a pill a day keeps the doctor away, but $ony says a botched update a month keeps the doctor away.
seriously, if i had a nickel for every time $ony has f*cked a FW update, be it bricking consoles, infinite loops, corrupting HDDs, or just small stuff like this, id be the richest man alive!
this is exactly why you dont ask a hardware company to do software, they botch it badly!

Am I the only one that had absolutely no problems with this firmware update? I was even up all night waiting for it, and continued using my PS4 throughout the morning and bits of the day. No issues whatsoever.
