Deep Down Delayed So It'll Look Like A Next-Gen Adventure
Deep Down was one of the first games we saw for Sony's PlayStation 4.
It was basically only a tech demo, but we all figured it would arrive sooner rather than later, especially with a beta scheduled for later this month. However, Capcom's free-to-play online title is now officially delayed.
According to what producer Kazunori Sigiura told Dengeki Online (as translated by DualShockers), the developers wanted to make sure gamers recognized Deep Down as "next-gen."
"Since we don't want to risk to be told ‘This could have been done on PS3!' we want to finish a game that fully uses the PS4 hardware specs."
He added that they'll deliver more information after the summer, so yeah, you gotta wait a bit. If the team is going to take full advantage of what the PS4 has to offer, they're going to need more time. It certainly makes more sense to do it right; nobody wants to see a game that looks old, especially after that same title helped introduce a new, more powerful piece of hardware.
