Shadow Fall v1.09 Patch Adds FPS Lock, More Save Points

For those of you who desire a rock solid framerate for your shooters, this patch is for you.

Guerrilla Games has released a new update for the PlayStation 4 exclusive, Killzone: Shadow Fall.

The v1.09 patch actually lets you lock the game in at 30 frames per second, which is great news for the technologically minded.

Furthermore, as revealed at the game's website, the update adds more checkpoints and automatic saving points to the campaign. In my estimation, the latter alteration is more important than the FPS one; I've always thought the auto-saving and checkpoints were erratic in Shadow Fall. Drove me nuts a few times.

As for multiplayer, this patch fixed an exploit where the VC30 weapon equipped with a flashlight magically increased its range. There are a few other bug fixes and performance enhancements, including more clan functionality and eradicating some collision exploits on certain maps.

nice to see the checkpoints finally being fixed, drove me insane in some points.
another thing i wish developers would pay allot more attention to, not only how frequently, but also where they are placed.
seems like there always placed at easy parts, so when you die you have to wade through the boring tedious sh*t to get back to the challenging part.
that leads on to the next problem, savepoints before cut scenes.
so many games put checkpoints before cut scenes, or like a cut scene entry of a boss or whatever.
why not put it after?
seriously, dying and having to do sh*t 500 times is frustrating enough, but having to sit through the same f*cking cut scene each time is even more so!
looking at you, knack!

Actually, Hitman Absolution is horrible for save spots and check points. I almost broke my controller 3 times cuz it's so frustrating!!!
After I finished the game, I vowed to never, ever play another Hitman game again, if they don't fix the check points and allow for the player to save any time.

Oh thank you. I am stuck at a certain point. I really could use the extra checkpoints

Yeah - glad to hear about the check points/save points! I have to admit I've not noticed any frame rate issues though. Not sure if 30 locked is better or not. I guess now I'll be looking for drops. Nice to have the option. Such a pretty game.....

I liked it as it was with occasional bursts of very fast realism. I always turn Bioshock's frame rate lock off for the same effect.

I was fine with the save points because it felt like some old school punishment. But hey I just sold the game so go ahead!
