PSXE Poll Update: The PS4 Won't Hit Store Shelves Until 2014
With the new rumor that says Sony and Microsoft will announce their new consoles in March, it's fair to assume one (or both) of those machines might be ready to go by the end of this year.
However, our readers don't believe we'll see the PS4 until 2014. The majority of those polled said Sony's new console won't make it for the 2013 holiday rush, although a fair number do expect the PS4 to launch at the tail end of the year.
So far, it's just impossible to say. Sony executives have given the media conflicting signals over the past year or so; first they say the PS3 has plenty of life left, and they're not interested in releasing new technology any time soon, then they say they can't afford to be beaten to market by Microsoft again. Personally, I'd be fine with the PS3 for another two or three years but I know I'm not in the majority.
This week, I thought about gauging reader interest in Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, which releases on Tuesday. But considering that just about everyone around here seems interested, we're gonna take the next step- Do you believe Level-5's latest could end up being your personal Game of the Year? The chances of it winning GotY at major sources are probably slim, so this poll is all about you and your opinion on the matter. :)

I'm certainly banking on Ni No Kuni being a personal favorite. Awhile ago I might have said Bioshock Infinite but they seem to be having lots of problems. 2013 might still be too early for Beyond Two Souls as well. I'm expecting Ni No Kuni to give an unparalleled magical experience though Tales of Xillia has a shot at being the more traditional JRPG and Graces F really blew me away.
It could hit some publications GOTY awards based on scores alone though.

As far as GotY, for me I am sure it will be, but for the mainstream audience I doubt it very much. Had it been out in 2012 which was one of the slowest years in recent gaming history - maybe. But 2013 is looking to be quite the firecracker which so many titles spread out through out the year, I doubt it will win a casual audience over say GTA V or The Last of Us.

Shame, because according to IGN and Gametrailers, this game kicks so much ass. Level 5 are heroes in the Japanese gaming industry (with the aid of legend Miyazaki), I hope they help start a fire, and I hope it rises.

ninty were really smart releasing the wiiu around mid to late november, by then 99.99% of the years games have been released so theres not much its competing with.
i hope it wont be within the first half of 2014, theres always just too many games releasing then.
also i just cant wait that long im too excited to see what they will bring us!
plus im getting REALLY sick of consoles holding PC gaming back, so the sooner we get a slight upgrade the better!
waste spending 5K to play games a 1K PC could play!
as for ni, i was really excited to see it when it was first announced it looked so beautifully artistic and creative.
i wish they would make a game like this but with a normal proper battle system!
sigh, why is it whenever such artistic beautiful games like this release they have to have a boring frustrating combat system?
why cant we have a combat system like kingdoms in a cartoony artistic world like this?
