GameStop Resupplied With PS4s, Gives You A Chance To Save

A whole lot of gamers still don't have a PlayStation 4. If you're one of them, did you sign up for GameStop's First to Know program?

If not, we're here to fill you in. The retailer has updated interested consumers with some PS4-related information, which presumably means that many store locations finally have some systems to sell.

One in-store promotion is a special PS4 value pack, which boasts the console and a copy of the critically acclaimed NBA 2K14 for $450. Okay, so you're not really saving much but hey, any savings is appreciated, right? You can also save $20 on the PS4 exclusive, Killzone: Shadow Fall and if you haven't tried it yet, you can nab Battlefield 4 on the PS4 for $10 less ($49.99). Lastly, a big one: If you've got an old console you're willing to trade in towards the purchase of a PS4, you'll get an extra 50 percent in trade-in credit.

Good luck nabbing your shiny new system!

NBA 2K14 became a micro-transaction madness. The game is very much playable without spending a dime, but every single thing in the game requires VC. Unless you can play in hall of fame difficulty with ease, it can feel like a grind fest. Regardless, it's a great basketball game with great depth. Ugh, it would be so much better if it didn't have anything to do with VCs.

The one thing that makes me mad is the fact they ditched the association and replaced it with my gm. Which requires so much vc i don't even play it. I'm used to spending vc on my team and my player..

Me neither.

I get GAMESTOP cards* as part of a private review program. They now send me codes via email for convenience. I love going in and getting stuff from them without paying. So much craziness I've seen and heard in these stores over the years. Funny because sometimes it seems like the cashiers are surprised I have them. One even went so far as to say that it was fake and would not complete my transaction. Absurd! Needless to say (oxymoron?;) He almost caught fire by heat of the spotlight I put him in with the whole store. Coworkers, customers, managers and all. In an extremely professional and serious business manner of course. I closed by informing them that they should take what transpired as a learning experience. Research, assess and then take action. Things could've been avoided simply by him asking questions and investigating the validity of my code, NOT underestimating me and insult my intelligence by stating that I was scammed online. Wtf!!! I've come to the conclusion that they train employees to treat everyone like clueless casuals.

And that my friend is one of my GameStop Adventures.

I'm not into sports games, very rarely play them. So I'm not interested in that setup, but I am hoping to get my hands on a ps4 before Infamous comes out, which I'm worried will be hard to do.

Interesting. There are no gamestops close to my living quarters. Wonder if they do shipping. Probably not. Depending on how my return flight itinerary pans out I may be able to do a "run and buy" kill. Maybe by then Amazon will be restocked and I can just take that rout. Going to store is dead to me. I miss be able to do that. Lately they just don't have enough stocked.

I hope the have standalone consoles. Otherwise this is a forced upsell. They create these bundles at the vendor level. Sometimes at the store level. The launch bundles were ridiculous. A neighbor of mine had to spend over $800 to get his PS4. At least these aren't that elaborate.

PS. I just hate the %50 extra this or that stuff. Just tell your customer the exact amount they're getting. Companies and their pricing wannabe Jedi mind tricks! Gotta love em.
