Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition Announced

It's time for some award-winning action/platformer fun on the next-gen consoles!

Developer DrinkBox Studios has announced that the popular and well-received Guacamelee! will come to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Wii U during the second quarter of 2014. Dubbed the Super Turbo Championship Edition, it will boast "a bevy of new content," including an extended story with more areas to explore, a new boss, and excellent new abilities.

Said DrinkBox co-founder Ryan MacLean:

"It’s always been our plan to bring Guacamelee! to additional platforms in order to share the game’s unique world with as many gamers as possible; however, we wanted to go one step further and provide fans with new content and features. We feel that Super Turbo Championship Edition’s new levels, enemies and abilities (did somebody say explosive eggs?) will provide armchair luchadores with the richest Guac experience ever."

Other additions include a bunch of fresh enemies, support for multiple save slots, and a dual currency system that supports permanent item unlocks. Here's a video that showcases all the sweet new improvements and additions:
