No Demo Or User Generated Content For inFamous: Second Son

You should expect great things from inFamous: Second Son.

But there are two things you shouldn't expect:

A demo and user-generated content. Although players could flex their creative muscle in the last entry, Sucker Punch co-founder and Second Son producer Brian Fleming says this feature won't be included in the new entry on PlayStation 4.

As he said over at the PlayStation Blog:

"[User-generated content] is not a part of this title. It was part of Infamous 2, but not a part of Second Son."

This shouldn't disappoint too many people, though, because the user-generated content didn't exactly take off in inFamous 2. Design Director Chris Zimmerman said at GDC last year (via Game Informer) that of all inFamous 2 players, only about 5 percent published a personally made level. So really, are we gonna miss it in Second Son?

Also, Fleming confirmed that there are no plans to offer a playable demo for the new title. At least, not before the game is scheduled to land on March 21, which isn't far off now. No matter, though; who needs a demo? We know we want it!

Yeah nobody cares about that and I'd rather have them focus on making the game for the SP experience.

I can totally see why they wouldn't make a demo. I hated the inFamous 1 demo and loved the game, the fact is it's often too hard to portray your game's high points without giving the story away in a short demo.

Well to me the demo parts weird because it seems they already have a demo that's been around for press events and what not for people to play.

miss the good old days where almost every game came out with a demo.
not that long ago either, i remember when the ps3 released now that PSN was live literally game had a demo MONTHS before release!
i remember playing clive bakers jericho demo months before release that was by far one of my favorite ps3 games, so sick and twisted and actually surprisingly had great enemy variety and different characters with different abilities.
really miss that game wish we would see a sequel!
or even the GOW3 demo that released 4 months before release which let people play the famed E3 demo, the famoud helious head rip.
seriously, why is it so hard to publish a demo these days?
there is no better way to market your game, it gives people a chance to try it see if they would like it, and also gives people a chance to actually get to enjoy it and make the wait that little less painful.
i remember when infamous came out i was not going to get it just looked really stale and boring to me, then i played the demo and freaking loved it, instantly preordered the game, and played the demo every single day till release!
only one reason why you would not release a demo, and thats your trying to hide something.
$onys been pretty restricted in showing the game off too, i mean how many trailers and gameplay vids, previews have we seen?
hmmmmmmmm, first very restricted far between previews, and very few footage weve seen the same demo over and over again, and now this.
what is $ony trying to hide?

Lol nothing , they are not too fond of spoiler . Why some powers were blurred on the live gameplay from ign ( or was it gamespot ... ).

If you re not sold after seeing what they showed so far , nothing will change you re mind i m sure ( more gameplay or a demo ) .

No demo makes me weary of buying full games...at least at first, may wait until they're cheaper.

It typically does for me too cuz it usually means the game is bad, but that doesn't always translate to big AAA games. GTA5 didn't have a demo either.

Just check out the metascore. That's typically a more reliable source than a short demo anyways.

I played enough of the user generated missions to earn the trophy and some of them were pretty good. Granted, most of them proved Sturgeon's Law in spades but the community did make a few worth playing. I can understand why they didn't include it this time, though. It probably times a lot of effort to make tools that are user friendly and it's one more thing to bug test when you have enough work as it stands. If such a small percentage of your players even bother then it can be safely eliminated.

I think the lack of a demo will certainly harm initial sales.
There are very few IP's I would buy without demoing the latest release first.

I'm not saying the sales won't pick up AFTER gamers have tried the demo and satisfied themselves the game is worth buying.

It's such a huge buzz on social media and word of mouth that I think this calculated move will prove to be the right one just cuz demos usually draw in haters and can't properly demonstrate the game anyway.

A little disappointed UGC won't be in second son. I only created one level, but I've played some real good UGC that had good commentary and all. Oh well, Friday can't get here fast enough
