Sony On PS4 Shipments: We're Struggling To Meet Demand
The PlayStation Camera isn't the only "supply constrained" product in the PlayStation catalog.
Sony confirmed to The Wall Street Journal that the PlayStation 4 will continue to be in short supply until the summer. Said boss man Andrew House:
"We're struggling to keep up with demand. Conservatively, as we get into the early summer months, we'll be closer to a full supply situation."
With high demand in North America and Europe, it's no real surprise. Thus far, at last count, the PS4 had sold 6.3 million units worldwide, which means Sony has already topped their goal of 5 million for the fiscal year (March 31). As for the Xbox One, Microsoft hasn't issued a new sales update since revealing the system had sold 3 million units as of December 31, 2013.
Availability is always key. Without any consoles to sell, it doesn't really matter how badly people want it, right? Here's hoping Sony can continue to satisfy demand the best they can between now and the summer months!
