Embittered CoD Fans: Will This Year's Entry Win You Back?
Call of Duty: Ghosts didn't go over well with a lot of long-time CoD fanatics.
I know several who said it was a definite step back, and they remain skeptical as to the future of the series. Therefore, the big question is: If you count yourself among the CoD faithful, do you have confidence that this year's entry will restore your confidence and excitement in the series?
Granted, we don't really know anything about it just yet; I mean, aside from several bold claims from developer Sledgehammer Games and publisher Activision. They've released some pretty lofty claims to the press, but that's not really anything new. They tend to do that with every new Call of Duty, so we can't put much stock in such boasting. However, will a new studio infuse new life into the franchise? Sledgehammer isn't exactly proven, although they have worked on the Modern Warfare games in the past. And Activision wouldn't hand the reigns of a billion-dollar franchise to an untested team, right?
Because it isn't Infinity Ward or Treyarch, will we really see something new? Perhaps it won't be innovative, but will it at least feel fresh? When you see the new CoD announced, what will you have to hear to make you happy?
