Insider: PS1/PS2 Games In 1080p On PS4, Morpheus Info
What can we expect to see at E3 this year?
Well, if industry insider Ahsan Rasheed aka "thuway" is right, we'll get several big announcements from Sony during the event. As usual, Rasheed has been chatting up a storm on Twitter.
Firstly, he says Sony will reveal "local PS2/PS1 support on PS4 w/native 1080p rendering for select titles." That would be freakin' awesome, especially for those of us who are already picturing Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy VII in native 1080p on our PS4s. ...not sure exactly how that would look, though. And Rasheed adds that the software is "still buggy" and not every game currently works.
Moving on, Rasheed also said we can expect more "PS4 exclusive game stuff" (no surprise there), the launch of PlayStation Now (sounds about right), and several virtual reality demos courtesy of Sony's new VR tech, "Project Morpheus." Here are some of the Tweets pertaining to VR:
"Devs I’m talking to really want to try Morpheus. Community feels like it is the best way to introduce VR to mainstream consumers."
"Oh and Sony has opened the floodgates asking for open criticism from third parties on Morpheus and what they want to see in a final product."
I just hope their E3 presentation is still game-oriented. Remember that E3 where Sony spent way too much time on PlayStation Move? Please don't go overboard on the tech and gadgets; just show us those games.
