Wolfenstein Nowhere To Run Trailer: Rousing And Atmospheric

Some are skeptical. Others are dismissive.

But after watching this Nowhere to Run trailer for the upcoming Wolfenstein: The New Order, I have a feeling some naysayers might feel some intrigue for the game.

This shooter is indeed just that, a shooter. But at the same time, it's a single-player-only adventure, which presumably features a pretty involving, rousing storyline. This new trailer boasts some story-related content as well as a myriad of bad-ass gameplay elements, so perhaps the game's stock just went up. On the other hand, if you're a big fan of multiplayer, or you're just plain tired of FPSs, you likely remain unimpressed.

Me, I loved Return to Castle Wolfenstein and I'm hoping The New Order is a legitimate return to form.

Looks good to me too.

But I just hope that this new Wolfie doesn't have another game-breaking glitch like my of Wolfie 2009 copy did, where I tried & tried to enter that 1 door to go back to the main part of town & then I'd become stuck in a un-intended loading-time nightmarish purgatory of hell time & time again so that I could never proceed any further in order to finish the rest of the game.

really looking forward to this!
the world has been SCREAMING out for a balls to the wall old school super fast paced shooter, and the wolfenstein series has always been the pinnacle of that.
you want the sense of when you walk in a room, dual machine guns in hand, of everyone sh*tting their pants going oh no not him!
thats what wolfenstein has always been about, that really fast paced over the top action.
and this brings it in spades!

another thing i really love about this is the amazing amount of ways you can play it.
and the weapons you can find.
your given the basics but if you want to really meet the games potential then you need to work for it, and some of the weapons are hidden in the cleverest areas with the best puzzles around them.
makes me think back to the good old doom and duke nukem days where you were not handed everything on a silver platter, you had to explore and work for your weapons.
i miss that sense of seeing a glint in the distance, or seeing a covered box, and going ooo i wonder whats in there, i wonder how to get up there.
its about f*cking time games went back to intriguing players , asking them what if, then rewarding them for actually using their creativity and curiosity to go off the beaten path and find things you wouldnt otherwise receive.

not only weapons either, i remember the presentation they gave last year it was only a 5 minute demo, but there were so many off the beat paths taking you through air vents, hidden walls, corridors, that lead to making your life so much easier.
for instance a hanger has a plane hanging from the roof, you could bust in and blow everyone to pieces.
or you could look around, look for a hidden pathway up to the roof and cut the supports holding said plane causing it to crash down on everyone.
i know which one id rather choose!

and thats what we REALLY need in our games, a sense of sophistication, a sense of depth.
a sense of theres much more below the surface and if your willing to dig deeper you will be much more rewarded than just sticking to the beaten path like a flock of sheep following the sheppard off the cliff!

Looks pretty cool! I've been burned out on shooters for ages but only because they're all the same. This actually looks different with the alternate history and stuff. I'm not going to trust Bethesda's marketing after Rage though LOL. I'll wait until it's released and see what it's actually like.
