Rumor: Grand Theft Auto V Hits Next-Gen Consoles, PC In June

We keep hearing rumors that Grand Theft Auto V will grace next-gen consoles this year.

Nothing is official, of course (trust me, you'd know if it was), but the evidence appears to be mounting. Check out what BehindTheGames spotted.

It's a German Tweet that says GTAV will come to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in June. That seems a little fast - and one might assume Take-Two and Rockstar would want to wait for the holiday rush - but it's quite possible: Firstly, analysts and insiders have been saying for months that this is going to happen sooner rather than later. Secondly, we haven't heard a peep from Rockstar and their new project; maybe because they're waiting to push out this next-gen GTAV iteration before saying anything.

Would you buy GTAV again if you already bought it last year? It'd undoubtedly be the "definitive edition," just like Tomb Raider, so...

I'm not surprised that R* haven't yet announced anything new. They tend to only lift the lid on a game if they expect that it will be released within twelve months (even if it doesn't always pan out that way).

As for GTAV on PS4, I wouldn't get it. The game was fun enough, but one of those one-shot memories that I'll revisit for the sake of it, rather than because I truly want to (especially considering the prevalence of open-world games in the new gen).

I'm about tired of open world now, which sucks because it's obviously just getting ramped up as a huge proliferating trend meant for all future games.

Not interested BUT wouldn't it be sweet if they ship this out the door and then announce Agent as PS4 exclusive?

Before or after Capcom reminds us about that Resident Evil PSP game that's now coming to the Vita?

It must be true! They still have a slot for it on their site last I checked. It's just that if it were PS4 exclusive then it'd be lights out for Xbone.

Two things would have to happen before Agent can be announced as an exclusive. Either MS goes bankrupt (hehe please) or Sony finds a good amount of surplus money stashed somewhere to pay R* for exclusivity. But alas a man can dream.

If memory serves me well, Rockstar "owes" Sony an exclusive. That would be Agent.

Now once they announce this, it'll be Dark Souls 2 turn to head next gen. Its going to happen, if it doesn't than Silent Hill 2 HD's new voice acting is good.

You must have stopped part way through and started again with the original voices.

from the sounds of it, DSII could use a boost in graphics over just a res and frame rate increase. But I'd be happy either way.

No thanks.

We need NEW games, I'd said it before and I'm saying it now: I didn't buy a new gen console to play the same games that I can play without cashing 400 bucks.

New frickin' games

I not really sure if I would buy it again or not. Maybe if there was some extra content with the PS4 version.

It'd be smart for Rockstar games to actually pump this out. The game is HUGE.

i would put on the whole no we need new games, new creative ideas, blah blah blah.
but come on, how can i say no to a PC version of one of last gens best games!?
i just cant wait to see what the modders can do with this, after they turned GTAIV into a living painting!
if they are working on it though i really hope they put in a few new fresh things to shake the experience up.
a few new missions, a few new cars and maybe some cool new weapons, just something to help replaying the campaign and stop it from being a repetitive drudge.

Yes I would deffo buy it for my PS4. Love Rockstar. and all that they do. Once this is done then the team can move over to RDR2 and join the small team that is currently working on it, then it can really get going. I am sure a team of a few people are thrashing ideas about it.

How long does Rockstar take in making a game ? What is it 2-3 years possibly longer. It will happen soon I am sure it will.

I'm kind of burned out on GTA V after having spent several dozen hours playing through it on PS3. Having said that, the game SCREAMS for better hardware. If they improved the framerate and textures for the PS4 version, I'd at least have to give it a look.

I have yet to double dip on a gaming purchase. Except shadow of the colossus, and when I lost my copy of fight night champion, then found it again about a year after rebuying it.

Even though GTA 5 was awesome, I've already done it all.
Sure it's fun to pop in from time to time just to raise some hell, but then the online wouldn't be free on the ps4 version.

I say bring on Red Dead 2.

I wouldn't be able to help myself. I haven't redone all the heists in a different way yet either, so....

on top of that, I bought GTA3 Twice (Tablet and PC), GTA4 Twice (ps3/PC) Vice City at least 3 times (ps2/ps3/PC and maybe Mac i think also..), so yeah... they are banking on me getting this
