PSXE Poll Update: Gamers Split On Watch Dogs Controversy

Ubisoft has tried to dispel some of the more damaging rumors, but controversy remains.

The slim majority of our readers think Watch Dogs is going to be a downright amazing experience, while almost as many participants are definitely concerned about the game falling shy of expectations.

With those videos of low-quality gameplay footage floating around, the publisher has been forced to answer some tough questions lately. However, it appears that while the title may not look quite as amazing as initially anticipated, it'll probably still impress. That's the general consensus, anyway. Then again, there's that vocal group that thinks Ubisoft flat-out misrepresented the title, which - if true - would be a problem.

Personally, I think the game will be great, but that's just me. This week, after the announcement of the PS4 version of The Last Of Us, we want to know your opinion on the product. Is Remastered exactly what you've been waiting for as a PS4 owner? Or, do you think it's nothing more than a cash grab by Sony?

Watch Dogs looks like another boring nonlinear sandbox thing.

The Last of Us is definitely a cash grab, but not a stupid one. It'll make plenty of money, solidify the new PS4 base, and keep people busy while they figure out how to actually make next gen experiences.

im a bit skeptical with watch dogs.
you have the whole graphics debacle, not to mention ubisoft waited till the very last minute to announce a 6+ month delay, i mean you dont wake up a few days before going gold and only then noticing holy sh*t were going to miss our date, BY SIX FREAKING MONTHS!
they would of known that well in advance, so why wait till the very last minute to announce it?
very shady indeed.
so you have the shady controversy of the delay, and the shady controversy of the graphics debacle, and you also have the shady contrevercy of the 6 month wait with NO info!
and when they broke their silence, they did it with a new trailer.
not hey remember that game, here it is!
just a pre made trailer that had barely any gameplay in it!
so you have bad in the last minute delay, bad in the graphics tossup, bad in the how long it took them to reintroduce the game, and bad in how they finally introduced it.
oh, and not to mention the games still turning up to events unplayable, i mean its releasing in 1 month time and its STILL not playable!?
most games go playable 6 months at the very latest, not strictly hands off affairs.
so its pretty hard to be optimistic about watch dogs, when you have so many alarm bells going off you have to be pretty f*cking batsh*t deaf to be able to ignore them!
hopefully im wrong and it turns out to be the game it could, and should be.
but if ive learnt anything in the past few years, its your better off being skeptical and concerned about something, than trying to be optimistic about it because all thats doing is setting you up for disappointment.

I'm not too interested in Watch Dogs. Not interested at all really. Running around a city while a billion little pop-up menus appear on screen and you can choose to manipulate something in the environment to stop those perusing you...just doesn't look like that much fun.

I don't have a PS4 and don't plan on getting one until there's a good library of exclusives for it that interest me personally, so I really don't care about HD remasters for it.

I already own The Last of Us (specifically the Survival Edition, with that lovely steelbook case) so the remaster has no appeal to me. I don't think many will disagree with me when I say TLoU is already a technical accomplishment on the PS3.

I also have no desire for it not because I don't own a PS4, rather I have already completed TLoU twice (and its DLC Left Behind) so without sounding too pious, I feel fulfilled with my experience.
