Sony Reveals PlayStation Now-Enabled Bravia 4K HDTVs

Admit it: You want one of those superb Sony Bravia 4K HDTVs.

Yeah, "Ultra HD" is pretty darn expensive. But Sony has just unveiled a new line of PlayStation Now-ready 4K Bravias, which are bound to get the attention of gamers everywhere.

The first of these new sets will launch in June. PlayStation Now is Sony's new full-game streaming service and it's currently in a beta phase; those involved say it works pretty well. As for the TVs, they range in price from $2,100 all the way up to $25k. The latter is a monster 85' set and at four times the standard definition of 1080p TVs, it should provide quite the viewing experience.

The new Bravias with Now will let you stream PS3 games, but of course you'll need a standard Dual Shock controller. It'd be great if Sony tossed one of those in, considering the price. So, gettin' one?

Very clever since no Playstation consoles support the tv.

Ugh, I can't imagine a 720p streamed signal would look any better on a 1080p display let alone a 2160p display.

meh, id much rather a OLED set.
why would you want a 4K crappy LCD set anyway?
so you can pay a 4000 dollar premium so you can watch content in 1080P anyway?
theres such few content available in 4K at the moment and thats not going to change anytime soon.
$ony have a few movies on offer, but very few, and if you dont watch many movies than your pretty much paying that 4000 dollar premium for nothing!
when streaming services and foxtel start offering 4K than it will be worth it, but until then why pay 5K for a 4K TV so you can watch 1080P content, when you can pay 1K for a 1080p set which has far better picture quality and lets you watch your content in the same resolution?

i absolutely hate going to work lately, theres a samsung store next to where i work and they have their new OLED TV on display so im seeing it at least twice a day i can hear it laughing at me!
made out of carbon fibre too so its incredibly strong, light, and paper thin too!
much better color reproduction than those crappy LCD displays i mean come on LCD displays have been with us since what, the 80s!?
well past time we replaced that sh*t!

one thing that really surprised and disappointed me about CES this year, last year was all about OLED 4K TVs, hell even $ony announced a partnership with panasonic in creating them, so i was really expecting them to at least come out and give a update on it if not show a store model and rough release date.
wish manufacturers would put their full weight behind that instead of these crappy LCD 4K displays, i mean come on LCD is such old crap technology!
exactly whats stopping me from buying a new TV, really want to get a new one but theres no way in hell im paying 10K for a OLED TV, and no way in hell im paying 5K for some crappy LCD display, so where do you go?
f*cking panasonic and samsung have turned their backs on plasmas too i really wanted to get one of those.
oh well i guess ill have to wait until someone decides to give us a 4K OLED display, i just hope my crappy bravia holds out till then.
already had it fixed 3 times in the 2 years ive had it, so im not holding my breath........
typical $ony, cant create a reliable product if their lives depended on it!

wont be that long, 2-3 years max.
not to mention sharp plans to bring 8K TVs to market at the end of the year.
and laser TVs are suppose to be out within 4 years as well.
should of been out years ago but they were having allot of problems with the laser parts, how to develop the technology and not destroy peoples eyes.
but they say they have solved that problem now so we should be seeing them soon.
so manufactures really need to hurry up and squeeze in 4K OLED sets because laser TVs are not that far away and once they release OLED will be obsolete.
