PSXE Poll Update: The Last Of Us On PS4 Is A Good Thing

Controversy erupted when Sony confirmed The Last Of Us: Remastered for the PlayStation 4.

After all, charging another $60 for a year-old game doesn't seem fair. Well, to some. To most, though, Sony's intentions are hardly dastardly, and getting the definitive version of 2013's very best game on the PS4 is a good thing.

Per the results of our latest reader poll, the vast majority at least see this move as a good idea, while many think it's downright fantastic. Sure, why not? It gives those who missed out on the PS3 a chance to play an even better version of the award-winning insta-classic and if you've already bought and played it, nobody's forcing you to buy the updated version. That being said, I think we'd all appreciate a discount on the Remastered edition for those who purchased the original game.

This week, after we learned about the PS4's continued chart-topping performance, we want to know if Sony will maintain this lead. Is it already over for the Xbox One? Or will Microsoft's console storm back eventually?

In my humble opinion , why would you bring a game , that did so well and was rated highly throughout the gaming community as the ps3's last great exclusive up to the ps4 release , and your releasing it again on ps4 when we need new titles as it has just launched?

I can't figure out how that question makes sense.

Just block out his "In my humble opinion," and it makes sense as a valid question :D

Xbone is fried. You can't even compare this situation to when the PS3 was doing really poorly against 360 either, they are nothing alike.

I'm not counting out the Xbox yet, MS still has Halo and Gears up their sleeves and we know how American / Western gamers eat that *expletive* up. MS can gain ground, in the US at least, with those games alone. The rest of the world though, it's a lock for Sony.

We should counter with HAZE 2, a totally reworked stunning blockbuster Halo killer that scores nothin but 10s.

I hope that Guerilla's new IP is something that can compete with Halo... I mean, it should be considering the damn thing's been in development since at least 2011.

In the us? They have a bit of a chance. In general? Nope, they're boned unless sony does something really stupid like say...give the ps4 and update that makes it only able to use really overpriced proprietary hard drives and make it so that you can't delete digital games without deleting the saves.

I don't see the Xbox One making any sort of a comeback. If Titanfall didn't do much for it's sales other than create a one week blip, then nothing will. Kinect is too integrated into the OS to sell a version without it, and it's already built as cheaply as possible, which doesn't leave room for any major price cuts in the near future. And judging from the management turnovers and general hostile attitude towards the gaming division from stockholders, they're certainly not looking to start selling it at a loss.

I think people have finally realized thanks to last year's game lineup that PlayStation just has far better games and it's a more powerful system at a lower price. Microsoft has always been after that casual audience which is the whole reason Kinect exists, and that audience doesn't seem to buy consoles any more. Just ask Nintendo.
