Looks Like Assassin's Creed: Unity Will Offer 4-Player Co-Op

I was never big on the competitive multiplayer aspect of Assassin's Creed.

But a four-player co-op mode? Count me in!

A series of Tweets from former NeoGAF poster "shinobi602" definitely caught our attention.

He apparently has inside information that confirms the existence of four-player co-op, in addition to two separate demos scheduled for E3. One will focus on the game's hopefully epic campaign, while the other will highlight the fresh four-player action. He also said the latter mode is a "separate narrative" entirely, which means players won't just be tackling the same missions as offered in the single-player experience.

Multiplayer debuted in the acclaimed franchise with Brotherhood but for the most part, there has never been much of a co-op theme. Assassin's Creed: Unity is slated to arrive later this year.

Excellent! When I think 4 player co-op, I think Borderlands 2. If it's implemented as well in Unity as in BL2 - that would be awesome!

Seems like they're playing the safe thing by keeping the game fresh. They have how many copies sold with the whole franchise? What was it, 77 million? They've got two projects, one for ps3/x360, and another for next gen. This franchise will break 100 million.

sigh.
really getting sick of this notion of games have to cram in as much crap as possible!
especially with this franchise its been getting stale and stagnant for years now, so instead of improving the campaign they just take on 4 player co-op?
seriously?
ok, im officially done which was at one time my favorite new IP!

Who said they don't improve on the campaign or other aspects of the game too? It's extremely unlikely that this is the *only* thing new...

whenever new things are added its normally to the detriment of everything else.
so history said so.

I disagree.

When things go downhill, it's not because things are added. It's because the focus has shifted.

For example, Uncharted 2. Multiplayer was added, and the SP certainly did not suffer.

exception to the rule, most of the time adding something new effects the quality of everything else.
exactly why everyone gets so worried when a SP only game gets MP, they worry that some of the resources stripped away from the campaign are going to effect its quality.
sometimes it doesnt, but most of the time it does.

Black Flag has co-op. It's okay definitely needs expanded on... This might be it considering it'sprobably more of a focus.
