Lords Of The Fallen Devs Faring Better With PS4 Version

Lords of the Fallen appears to be a very promising medieval action game.

But once again, it may also be another third-party multiplatform title that's best experienced on PlayStation 4.

Executive Producer Tomasz Gop told IGN that while the team is aiming for full 1080p high-definition on both consoles, the results have thus far been better on Sony's machine:

"We're working very hard right now to deliver PS4 and Xbox One in 1080p but I can't confirm whether it's possible. It's probably easier for me to confirm it'll happen for PlayStation 4, because it appears on this one we're almost nailing it and pretty much there. For Xbox One though, it’s slightly tougher and we’re still working on it, so I can't confirm that yet."

Gop added that he wants to hit at least 30 frames per seconds for the game, although he clarified that it'd be preferable to have a steady FPS rather than a fluctuating one. In other words, he wants full HD and a rock sold 30FPS rather than striving for 60FPS. That's probably not a bad idea from a design standpoint.

As for the game itself, it was revealed a few months ago and it does look pretty entertaining. To refresh your memory, here's that debut gameplay video:

This looks great! They don't need to go over 30FPS for a game like this. 1080p and 30FPS is perfect! Looking forward to this and Bound By Flame however need a review for the latter.

It really is strange that Microsoft has designed a console released in 2014 that can't handle full HD resolutions with relative ease. It just is borderline unbelievable.

I think MS estimated that most people probably wouldn't care to notice the difference. I personally think they would be right, BUT gamers like us scrutinize these details and inflate the issue so loud that the message even bleeds out to the lesser dedicated gamer.

EDIT: and I would take 1080p native res and $100 less buy-in, over a Kinect any day.

Then they can't possibly be in any contact with the gamer community at all - and I find that additionally hard to believe. :D

I mean, sure, I agree, it's not *that* important a difference (as long as the output is the native resolution of the screen) and I'd rather have more details (objects) in the picture than a higher resolution myself, but still... Running full HD really is kind of a minimum requirement these days. At *least* if we look some years ahead - and a console is supposed to last that long.
