PSXE Poll Update: PlayStation 4 Won't Relinquish Its Lead

Yes, yes, we know. Shocker that a PlayStation-oriented website has readers who think the PS4 will keep outselling the Xbox One.

But hey, we've got a pretty smart group here and if they voted a certain way, we're sure they've got legitimate reasons beyond, "Sony is teh best; Xbone blows!" Well...at least, we hope there are reasons beyond that. ;)

Anyway, the results of our latest poll were clear: The majority of our fans say Sony's new console will absolutely continue to outstrip the Xbox One in the sales department. At last check, the PS4 had moved over 7 million units worldwide; as for Microsoft's console, we haven't heard an official update since the end of last year. That's when we learned that as of December 31, 2013, 3 million Xbox Ones had been sold.

Sony does appear to have the upper hand moving forward, but you never know... This week, after BioWare gave us a launch date (October 7) and a bunch of beautiful new media for Dragon Age: Inquisition, we want to know: How pumped are you for this game? Is your anticipation level off the charts, or are you part of the "wait-and-see" camp?

I don't need to see any reviews, it will be great, but it's too early to get hyped for a game that is still basically last gen.

It'll be interesting to see if it sells more on PS4 or Xbone.

hope that wont go very far.........
only reason ps4 is outselling it is because of the controversy with used games, and the online checkins, and how poorly M$ introduced that.
whoever orchestrated that and explained it to the staff should be shot on sight, i mean seriously it was idiotically pathetically introduced!
than when they were asked to elaborate on it and how it will work it was ahhhh, ummmmmm, were not talking about that yet.
yeah, way to announce a new system and instantly kill it on the spot!
if it wasnt for that big mistake i wouldnt be surprised to see this gen exactly the same as how last one was, xbox constantly outselling.
especially now that M$ actually has quite a few new studios working with them and have quite a few new franchises out there, where $ony is being VERY tight lipped with what their doing which is a shame.
im really hoping they will take that straight jacket off at E3 and show us their cards, otherwise there going to have allot of unhappy customers saying why should i hold onto my ps4?
or even why should i buy one if you havent already.

as for DA i think thats been pretty well discussed.
theres 2 sides of games lately.
side 1 amazing combat but boring worlds and characters.
or side 2 amazing worlds and characters but boring combat.
my only question is which will inquisition going to fall into?
pretty stupid releasing the game up against some really big hitters too there really going to struggle.
being bioware does not help either, theres still allot of people out there still miffed about ME3!
me included.

Yup, the Port/IndieStation4 certainly isn't outselling the competition because it has games. It's got nothing and never will at the current rate its top studios are falling apart and the way Sony itself is crumbling. What saved Sony is that somehow, despite having all the momentum, the fools at MS managed to throw it all away with stupid policies that never should've existed and if they were going to exist should've been explained in a clear and proper manner. It was stunning to me how terribly MS handled all that. I think Phil Spencer is the right guy to get the Xbox Division back on track though. Meanwhile Sony loses Jack 'Mr. E3' Tretton. If last gen proved anything the 'console war' is a marathon, not a race and all the signs point towards good things for MS' future. The same can not be said for $ony. You know things are bad when a company is filling out its lineup with old PS3 games and trying to pass them off as new. Too bad the fanbase isn't smart enough to realize what's happening, but the majority will catch on eventually.

I totally cant wait Its just ashame that it well be hold back by the Ps3 & 360. This would have been a sweet Ps4/XBone only game.

PlayStation-based website asked fans if their favorite console will win the 'console war' a mere six months into the new generation. Fans vote yes. I'm stunned.
