New Destiny Gameplay Trailer, GameStop Pre-Order Bonus

If you're eagerly anticipating the shared-world shooter in development at Bungie, this 7-minute gameplay video will be a treat.

Activision has released a new video that shows off a bunch of new gameplay. The footage comes from the cooperative Strike mission called "The Devil's Lair," and a trio of players face down a variety of foes in both indoor and outdoor areas.

At the same time, the publisher revealed a new pre-order incentive that will be exclusive to GameStop. If you pre-order Destiny at the world's largest video game retailer, you'll get the Upgraded Sparrow, a customized transport vehicle that is faster, more durable and boasts better boost than the standard version. You have to be a Power-Up Rewards member at GameStop to take advantage, though.

As for the gameplay, check it out. It's all sorts of tasty, especially if you're the type who has enjoyed great games like Borderlands II.

I have no idea what to think of this game yet. Sometimes it looks really compelling and other times it doesn't look like something I'd want to play. I sorta like how it looks like Halo re-invented for a more modern standard of gaming.

It looks very Haloesque to me. Might have to wait for reviews on this one.

@Temjin001
Are you able to describe the times when you aren't interested in it?

@World
I don't know what part of this seems generic, besides the part where you shoot things. I mean, this is the best evolution of the FPS genre I have seen for ages, and the seamless integration of co-op/multiplayer is something that hasn't been done in this genre, or consoles?

@tlpn99
It's unfortunate that you are going to let the outcome of reviews make your decision on purchasing this title. Especially considering the standard of reviews these days. Just look at today's reviews for Child of Light. Always, ALWAYS let the game speak for itself, don't ever accept another human being's description of a game.

integrating MP doesn't make it that special.

Every single preview I have read today has had a few things in common, and one of those things is "Halo has always had really good AI, so we expect it to be the same in Destiny".

Sooooo yeah.

Yeah I did think that it seemed very easy in the strike they were playing.

But some of the previews said that it was actually kind of difficult at times, when they were being rushed by multiple enemies.

I like that red revolver. I don't like viewing the world through my stomach.

One day they will solve the lack of peripheral vision that keeps me away from interesting looking FPS.

My hype for this game is up and down. I get pumped when they release a new gameplay trailer, but then my hype goes down when Bungie go dormant for months.

I think this looks sooooooo good. Exploration, sweet firefight combat, customization, lore and mystery and wonder. My kind of jam. Time will tell if the gameplay itself is compelling but what they're striving for is right up my alley.

Ugh, the AI looks bad! They run right out into the open. Didn't see or hear them communicating anything at all, no fall back or flank commands. Looks so easy. With no need to even strategize on our part. My other dissapointment, your in a group of three but it seems as your character is always talking as the narrative all by himself all the time. If your going to have 3 characters play as a group/team, why is it so hard to have some sort of group/team communication between them all. Sad new IP's have not done more to gameplay mechanics with the new hardware. For me a new IP with prettier graphics but all the same run to point a, b, c, d & so on with enemies that just pop out to be killed with no new next gen tactics just is not going to cut it for me. I'm very dissapointed from this new game footage. And I was so hoping to be blown away & hyped for this new chapter for Bungie.
