PS4/Xbox One Versions Of Elder Scrolls Online Delayed

The Elder Scrolls Online is available on PC and Mac, but when's it coming to consoles?

Bethesda sent over an update today addressing that very question. Unfortunately, their initial June launch window isn't going to happen; they need another six months "to deliver the experience our fans expect and deserve."

However, the developers acknowledge that this is disappointing to fans, so they've cooked up a special offer:

Anyone who purchases and plays the PC/Mac version of the game by the end of June will have the chance to transfer their character(s) to either console version when they're released. This lets you start playing instantly on the PC/Mac, and then add the PS4 or Xbox One version later. The best part is that you won't have to pay full price for the game twice; for only $20, eligible PC and Mac players can add the full, digital edition of ESO to either the PS4 or Xbox One. They'll also get another 30 days of play time.

The designers promise to keep everyone updated on the project's progress. In the meantime, you can check out some reviews; the critical reception for ESO has ranged from lukewarm to good.

I had a feeling this might happen. I'm kind of glad it did too. I'm not sure I could juggle two games that require subscriptions. FF14 takes up a lot of time as it is and I'd actually like to get into it more because Ive barely scratched the surface.

But I was really looking forward to this and it'sjust another game we have to wait on.

I've played them both, give up FF and turn to the Elder Scrolls. Much better.

I've played them both, and couldn't disagree more with Kraygen. :p

It's all preference, obviously.

Well I am really enjoying FF14. Until ESO releases I'm completely content with playing FF14. But I know based on what I've seen that there are a lot of things I'll enjoy more from ESO. It's more my type. But FF14 surprised me and I'm glad I'll get to put more time into it.

Looking at the stock pic, I think they should do what creating your own character in MLB: The Show does.... let's you pick from a huge list of stances....

That's a lot of people standing the exact same way.

Most of the characters in that image are npc's.

How you stand in game when in combat is dependent upon what weapon you are using.

I realize that. My point is that MLB the show has different character models and facial designs for every player in the league. On top of that, you can create your own character with lots of detail, then select one of 281 different batting stances for your player.

I see no reason why each class couldn't have, say 10 different stances.

Is it good on PC? I know that reviews from critics have been mixed but what's the overall player opinion like? I'm not a big Elder Scrolls fan but this has piqued my interest.

I'm loving it, I hate paying a subscription and haven't done it for years, but this is enough like skyrim that it's just worth it to me. My wife plays it with me and it's just the best online experience since the fall of Star Wars Galaxies.

I do like that you can get the ps4 version for only $20 if you've had the pc version, but I wish they'd go one step further and do an even better deal for people that have been there since launch.

I wish these game companies would learn how to reward the dedicated and loyal fans.

No matter what they do with the ps4 version, I really wish they'd add the ps4 controls as an option to the pc version. The game doesn't require a lot of buttons like most mmo's so a controller would be viable.

Bethesda you can talk about ESO,your Wolfenstein, and The Evil Within all you want. No one gives a damn. Until Bethesda Game Studios announces FALLOUT 4 im not buying a single f**king thing from you. Stop with the secretive illuminati BS regarding FALLOUT 4!!! If they actually have the audacity to not announce FALLOUT 4 at E3 and announce Prey 2 or Dishonored 2 ill be around Bethesda, MD for a visit with my "friends" if Bethesda is that arrogant to hide and delay FALLOUT 4 yet again.

Wait... Let me get this straight???

Buy the PC version with support for the latest graphics cards and highest resolutions now... and you can pay just 1/3 the retail cost to get it for a console with a fraction of the power later?

Don't get me wrong. I love my PS4 and my Wii U... But if I buy something for PC, I can't even IMAGINE why I'd want to turn the dial back to a console? This is really only beneficial to people with crappy computers.

I guess I just don't see the why...

If I wanted to get ESO, I'd just get it now, for Mac.

If I wanted to get ESO on PS4 or Xbone, I doubt I'd be a person with a computer that could run it in the first place.

I dunno... I guess I just don't get the point of this...
