Watch Dogs Has Staying Power, More Multiplayer For FC4
If Watch Dogs does well financially, expect more installments.
Obviously, the promising new IP hasn't even launched yet, so the publisher's goal is to get it out the door. However, that doesn't mean they're not looking toward the future.
As Ubisoft CFO Alain Martinez said during a recent earnings call, Watch Dogs should have staying power:
"Very clearly, the priority today is to release the game, and make it a success. Of course we believe it has the power and the potential to become a longstanding brand for Ubisoft."
They didn't confirm any announcements for a sequel, as Martinez added that they need to make the first game a success. Additionally, in another part of the call, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said fans can expect "a lot more multiplayer" in the freshly confirmed Far Cry 4. It's part of the company's goal of "launching games that will be played for a longer time."
Heck, I don't mind replaying single-player campaigns if they're great. Guess I'm old-school that way.
