Sony To Announce Three Games When PS4 Is Revealed This Week?

You can't have a great video game console without the games. It could be powerful enough to fly us all to Mars; without the software, it doesn't interest anyone.

So perhaps the most important aspect of the rumored PlayStation 4 announcement set for this week is the possibility of seeing some launch titles. And according to 30PlusGamer, there's a chance we'll see three titles...and they're all plenty recognizable.

The first is Killzone 4, which we've heard rumored before. In fact, another source had previously stated that the fourth iteration in the critically acclaimed franchise was in development at developer Guerrilla Games and would debut on the PS4. The second is a project from Media Molecule, which may or may not be a new LittleBigPlanet. We do know the team is working on an unannounced project right now but it's still a mystery. Lastly, there could be a new MotorStorm, which may have been teased by Evolution Studios this past week. And we're overdue for a new series entry.

Sounds great. Now, how's about some Uncharted 4?

Sounds amazing to me! All 3 or 4 games being shown would be a bonus. I am just excited for the PS4 announcement.

Weak. Add Uncharted 4, inFamous 3, and FFVersus to that list. (even if it doesn't exist they could tease it like before)

I don't find them weak at all. They might not be as big as Uncharted right now but all that could change with PS4.

Uncharted 4 is a possibility because Uncharted released in 2011.

Infamous 2 in 2011.

They probably will show Versus 13.

KZ4 will look good but hopefully it goes back to what it made it cool and is less CoDified than KZ3, Motorstorm is okay for race fans, we just don't know what Media Molecule is doing but as fun as LBP is I don't see it or these as system sellers (what I meant by weak). I'm a Sony fanman through and through no mistake.

Sony may want to save some of the good stuff for E3 too. They may want to steel some thunder away from MS (if they are still planning on announcing their console there).

KZ4 is a good system seller. But I agree the rest may be "weak" for launch titles. Maybe not LBP as that is a very popular game, and whatever MM is working on should be good.

I would much rather see KZ4, Uncharted 4, and inFamous 3. That would be so epic. But aside from that, I really wish there would be an epic return for Resistance. I know that wouldnt happen, but that game is really the best thing that happened to the PS3 early on, id love to see it come back for the PS4 launch.

Lol, FFVersus is kind of like the new Duke Nukem: Forever, isn't it?

I would be happy with a couple great first party and a few good third party titles available at launch, with more following throughout the PS4's first year out.

Thats a great idea. Its completely feasible, and sticking to the old school philosophies the first installed, is all they would have to do and the fans would love it.

Sounds good.

Killzone. A graphics MONSTER. FPS. Shooter. Action heavy. Scale heavy. Multiplayer (better include offline and co-op!:))

LittleBigPlanet. For everyone/family friendly/kid friedly/etc. Platformer (could be 3D LBP). Graphics monster if I say so myself. Multiplayer crazy. Play Create Share.

MotorStorm. I would call the first MotorStorm a graphics monster or at least almost. Racer. Arcade racer. Multiplayer. New motion controller compatible perhaps. Crazy racing.

Sounds very good.

If you're talking about 3D LBP like how Mario evolved with Super Mario 64, I'd very much welcome that! Plus, we'd probably have the ability to create our own 3D world. Now that sounds like a true evolution for LBP.

Yeah, Motorstorm was the game that made my friends and I realize just how beautiful the incoming generation, that is the PS3, looks. There wasn't really any game that showcased the graphical beauty at Sony's launch as Motorstorm did in my opinion. If Motorstorm is a launch title again, I have a good vibe that it will do the same with the PS4.

I cross fingers and toes that the Media Molecule creation is a new IP. No hate towards LBP, but I want to see what else these guys can do now.

Motorstorm is okay, but if they really want to blow racing fans out of their minds... they gotta tease GT6. No exclusives come close to selling as much as the GT franchise... a true blue system seller.

Yes, I agree 100% daus, but they can't tease too early.

Remember the almost nonstop moaning and groaning by everyone while we waited for GT5 to release?

Like I mentioned before in a discussion we had in another article, I just hope that because the PS4 is supposed to be much easier to code software for, hopefully we will start to see shorter software development cycles again, but without sacrificing quality.

Kazunori Yamauchi is pretty OCC when it comes to quality though, so we really don't have to worry about that, lol.

I personally wouldn't worry about that. Kaz in an interview said they'll only talk about GT6 and release dates when it's near ready, noting that he was fully aware of all the backlash of people moaning and such with GT5 per-release.

So, if GT6 is teased, we should know that it's near ready and that's all I want to know. Plus, they said they've been working on it for awhile now, and immediately after GT5's release.

I'm getting the PS4 on launchfor this game,and if Sony wants me to get the PS4 on launch, they better have my GT6 early!

it wont be KZ4, GG have been saying ever since KZ3 released that there giving the series a break and am working on a new IP first.
i cant see MM doing another LBP, they have said there bored with it and want to move onto different things.
rumors suggest sumo digital will be doing it, the same guys who helped out with LBP vita.
same for motorstorm, evolutions joining teams with ex BLUR developers in creating a open world racing sim.
i hope its like something like burnout paradise, where theres heaps of shortcuts to find, builboards to smash, cars to demolish, and lots, and lots of crazy jumps!

tbh though im much more interested in what sucker punch is working on!
$ony bought them just after infamous 2 came out, and they havent said boo since!
it was really interesting talking to a few of the devs at a preview event, its funny how everyones wanting to work on something different.
id love to see them do another superhero game, but this time no superpowers, you completely rely on your combat skills.
maybe something like the batman series, minus the gagets and far more focused on hiding in the shadows.
