Ready At Dawn On The Order: 1886: "Downgrade My Ass"
Over the weekend, we got some new gameplay footage for the highly anticipated PlayStation 4 exclusive, The Order: 1886.
However, some gamers weren't too enamored with the presentation; many naysayers called it "generic," and that has created some definite controversy.
To help combat the backlash, Ready at Dawn Chief Technology Officer Andrea Pessino took to the Italian forum Multiplayer.it and made his position abundantly clear (as translated in the NeoGAF forums).
Pessino first addressed those who said the video seemed to show off a downgraded game:
"Downgrade my ass. The game is now more detailed, dynamic and complex than it has ever been. Of course it's not finished yet and certainly we'll be able to get better performance before the release but in most cases, 99.99%, the frame rate is already solid and complexity is superior to what we promised. I'm sorry you've to see the game in such a terrible and low quality footage. If everything goes well, this situation will be fixed as soon as possible."
As for the widely repeated "generic" accusation, the CTO said the game won't be a "revolution" but at the same time, it will most certainly be a "unique experience." We're not sure if these bold statements will be enough to convince the skeptics but it does help boost our anticipation level.
It's rumored that The Order: 1886 will be part of the holiday lineup this year.
