Killzone 4 Is Actually Killzone: Shadow Fall, And It's Stunning

Nope, it isn't Killzone 4. Well, not exactly.

It's Killzone: Shadow Fall and it has just been officially unveiled at Sony's PlayStation Meeting 2013. They're running through a demo of it right now, and it's pretty mind-boggling.

Featuring ultra-realistic imagery and a beautiful sense of fluidity and gloss, this one is bound to impress. It starts off tranquil and ends up brutal; we get a great look at both the environment and the gameplay. Not only is it incredibly authentic-looking, but there's also a really vibrant color palette we didn't really associate with this franchise. The particle effects and other special graphical implements are awfully sweet, and this is one preview video that's going to make the rounds very soon. The AI also looks quite competent, and the control appears to be tight and responsive. And that last segment is nuts.

And when is the game coming out? Okay, we're not sure yet. But that presentation is enough to make us salivate.

The early cinematics looked great, but once the player took control it seemed like graphics quality dropped a number of notches... hopefully that was just the streaming cr*pping out on me as it kept doing throughout the entire presentation, and not an indication of in-game quality vs pre-rendered quality...

Hopefully they will release full 1080p quality videos on the PSN soon...

Liked what I saw. Not just with the graphics but the movement felt slowed down like KZ2, which is great in my opinion.

I'm a huge Killzone fan, but I'm really saddened by what I've seen! THis isn't Killzone anymore! This is just some random scifi shooter! The style, the weapons, the characters,... none of them look like they belong in the Killzone universe. I've instantly bought the previous 3 games, but I'm having serious doubts about this one... I'm extremely disappointed....
