Let It Die Will Be A F2P, "Asynchronous Online Game"
When a game is announced as free-to-play, you almost want to apologize.
But obviously, it's a successful business method, which means people like it. And now, another promising game has adopted the F2P system: It's the latest from developer Goichi Suda (aka Suda51) and Grasshopper Manufacture, Let It Die.
A new press release confirmed that the upcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive will be a free-to-play survival action game with an "asynchronous online component." The title was originally revealed during Sony's E3 press conference last week, but we have yet to see any gameplay. We do know that when someone dies, that person's "virtual soul" becomes an enemy in someone else's game. As for what exactly will be monetized in the game, we don't know, but we're guessing the usual: Weapons, equipment, maps, etc.
Let It Die has a tentative 2015 release date. The game still has a lot of promise but you have to be willing to deal with those microtransactions, ya know?
