Boston's Patrice Bergeron Lands Cover Honors For NHL 15

Would he have been your pick for this year's cover athlete?

EA Sports has announced that Boston Bruins forward Patrice Bergeron will grace the cover of this year's NHL 15.

Bergeron won the popular vote during a fan-driven competition that began back in May. The contest accumulated over 10 million votes from fans, and Bergeron defeated Montreal Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban in the last round. Of course, those fans weren't too pleased to learn that the EA and the NHL could override the fan's pick if they so chose. EA said this was only to "protect the integrity of the fan vote" from those who could auto-generate votes for their favorite player.

NHL 15 will hit store shelves on September 9 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

I suppose this is better than PK, I don't know if I could buy something with the Habs logo on it.

so....a player from a losing team that didnt even make it to the finals is on the cover opposed to anyone from kings or ny? interesting choices. or did they stop doing that so they can allow "fans" to vote

They've been "voting" for a few years now, which I find very questionable because Pavel Datsyuk has lost in voting to players like Mike Fisher. Martin Brodeur was on the cover of 14, and the Devils didn't even make the playoffs if I remember correctly.
