Titanfall 2 Might Include A Campaign
Yes, we realize that Titanfall isn't available on a PlayStation console.
However, there's a very good chance that the sequel will indeed come to the PlayStation 4. In fact, I'd say it's inevitable.
And therefore, we reserve the right to report on any news concerning a new entry, if that's all right with the PlayStation faithful. ;) Anyway, according to a new Game Informer interview with Respawn Entertainment COO Dusty Welch, it seems Titanfall 2 might include a single-player campaign. Well, at least they haven't ruled it out, but a campaign won't be included at the expense of the online multiplayer focus:
"I think that there's a lot of reward in continuing to push the paradigm that Titanfall introduced, which is this always-connected, real live visceral multiplayer universe. We learned a lot, and I think it's up to us to think about how we apply the learning to make the next game even more expansive and more engaging than the first."
Titanfall got plenty of flak for not including a campaign of any kind, but perhaps that may be a standard model in the years to come. Bigger worlds that are often shared appear to be the future trend; ala games like Destiny. Multiplayer is the crux of all FPS success these days, anyway, right? Still, the only way I'd buy Titanfall 2 is if it had a true campaign, so...
