How Hello Games Went From Joe Danger To No Man's Sky

How exactly did Hello Games go from the playful, relatively simple Joe Danger to the hugely ambitious No Man's Sky?

That was on tap for discussion during the latest PlayStation Blog interview featuring Hello Games co-founder Sean Murray. In the new video, Murray talks about the inspiration behind the new PS4 exclusive, along with a variety of other topics.

For instance, remember when a New Year's flood totally ruined the studio? Murray chats about that, and also adds that No Man's Sky - originally dubbed "Project Skyscraper" - was the ultimate goal for the team from the beginning:

"We always knew the type of game we wanted to make, and we'd known it before we even started at Hello Games, and we had talked about it at that point. And we knew that Joe Danger was going to be a stepping stone toward that."

No Man's Sky has received plenty of positive press since its impressive E3 showing, and it's undoubtedly one of the more anticipated titles of the new generation. Here's hoping Hello Games can pull it off!

Absolutely fantastic.

Like I've said before, this is what we need the indie scene for. This is making something *new*, this is innovative, this is forward thinking, this is using the computing power on something different than just a more polished, higher detailed version of an age-old game concept.

I'm just happy to see a new PS4 game that made me replay the gameplay trailer 3 or 4 times in a row... It takes a special kind of game to hook people so hard! :)

Single player or multi-player only?
Sounds like it could be great and a contender for game of the year! I'll keep my eyes on this game from now on...
