GameStop Kicks Off PS4 First To Know Information Program
Sony has announced the PlayStation 4, but that's only the beginning. Obviously, much more in the way of info and details will arrive throughout the course of this year.
And GameStop wants to keep you up-to-date and in-the-know. The retailer hasn't started taking pre-orders on the new console just yet (saying there "simply aren't enough details announced"), but they are offering a PS4 First To Know program.
GameStop PowerUp Rewards members can sign up to receive title announcements, trade and pre-order details and other offers related to the PS4. Just hit the link above or visit any US GameStop location to make sure you remain in the loop. However, bear in mind that signing up is not a pre-order or reservation, "nor does it guarantee a PS4 on a specific date or at a certain price." It's purely for information. Of course, you could just keep coming to PSXE and you might get that info faster but who knows? Maybe GameStop will be privy to certain details even before the press. I suppose that's feasible.
And it'll be interesting to see when GameStop can finally start taking pre-orders...would you pre-order one?

It would not be a wise move for any of the manufacturers to do this outright. What I see is that they are implementing different purchasing options that will decrease used games sales. They will eventually just remove them from the equation altogether in time. It will be a natural evolution. Particularly when physical media is no longer relevant.

The more I got to think about it, I am not going to trade all of my PS3's in though. I will put it in the Master Bedroom so I can begin the execute the plan of turning my wife of 20 years into a gamer. HA!!
