Analyst: Destiny Could Be The Biggest Game Of 2014
Looks like Activision is primed to make another killing but this time, a new Call of Duty may not lead the way...
According to a report from Cowen and Company analyst Doug Creutz (as cited by VentureBeat), the hotly anticipated Destiny could sell between 10 and 15 million copies, which would generate between $600 and $900 million.
Bungie's upcoming blockbuster sits atop "Cowen's Ordometer," which estimates how many copies a game will sell based on the pre-order data from Amazon and the NPD Group's reports on physical game sales. Interestingly enough, Destiny has the highest Ordometer score in the past four years, and is actually set to outsell this year's Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. In fact, Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Assassin's Creed: Unity are currently projected to outstrip the latest CoD.
Wouldn't that be something? Do you know how long CoD has sat atop the annual charts?
