Destiny Beta Should Be Packed With All Sorts Of Content

The beta test for Bungie's hotly anticipated shared-world shooter Destiny kicks off on July 17 for PlayStation platforms.

But what can you expect to see? Well, according to a memo sent to GameStop managers (as leaked on Reddit), the beta test will feature four story chapters, four competitive multiplayer maps, a cooperative Strike, and of course, one giant massive world to explore.

Bungie hasn't been explicit; they've only said testers would enjoy a "diverse sampling of major activities." That beta will start on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3, and then move to Xbox platforms on July 23. If you'd like to be in on the fun, all you have to do is pre-order the game. We had a few extra codes to give away but they're already gone, so you might as well pre-order. C'mon, just five bucks at GameStop.

If you'd like to check out our alpha impressions, go right ahead. But the beta will be much bigger.

Can't wait for the beta to begin. I enjoyed the alpha and want to see more of the content of the game.

after playing the alpha and not being overly blown away, I got a code for the beta to see if my nephews think it worth buying as a reward for their exams. Quick question for anyone who may know, should I uninstall the alpha from my ps4 before the beta or is it likely to be able to be included in some way?

I think you can go ahead and delete the alpha, they will be separate entities.

Yeah Bungie said that the Alpha install is worthless now. i deleted mine.

How much time did you sink into the Alpha? I found that most people who weren't immediately interested got more hooked the more they played.

That was definitely the case for me, my first reaction was disappointment but then a few hours later I was having a blast and couldn't stop thinking about the game hahaha.

I uninstalled. Wish I didnt now. But I got to level 8 in a day so that wont matter. We get 6 days of beta anyways.

Or instead of $5 at Gamestop you can do the Amazon trick for free.

First login/make an Amazon account.

Second go to the Destiny page and preorder.

During checkout enter all your info etc. You will notice it says Amazon does not take payment until the day of release.

Third after ordering keep checking your email for the order confirmation and beta code.

Fourth once you have the code enter it on the Destiny Beta website.

Fifth go to Amazon under the drop menu under your account name click "View Orders" click cancel preorder for Destiny.

There you go 100% free Destiny Beta. The most you need is $1 in your bank/credit account for the Amazon bounce check they occasionally do.
